By Jack from Indiana on 07/08/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Packable Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features, Poor Fit, Poor Material or Construction Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a solid 32" waist and these pants wereTIGHT!!! I don't know who wrote the review about these pants being baggy, but they are spandex-tight. I only gave them a star because the color was right. I have very skinny legs and these pants don't even let my little bird legs breathe. Also, the pockets are too small. Sorry Columbia, but these guys are a joke. Try to use a more expensive measuring device next time so that 32" is really 32"!
By Hot Rod Hal from Watsontown, PA on 07/08/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I've had a couple Columbia products now and while they seem well enough made, are ill--fitting and lacking in any particular style.
By Dual Sport Rider. from Cleveland, Ohio on 03/31/2009 Pros: Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A quality product. The second pair I have owned. The first gave out after three seasons of travel, hiking and backpacking. A leg zipper broke. Material and design superior. There are some pretty shabby imitations out there. Save a few dollars on cheaper merchandise and you will be disappointed
By Joe in the hills from Cleveland, SC on 03/06/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The leg zip-off needs to be higher, aka thigh rather than knee length.
Otherwise you've got British walking shorts.
Top Rate on Every Feature By Travel Junkie from Chicago, IL on 03/03/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these pants after I tried another pair of zip-offs from Columbia's Titanium collection. Although the others were much more packable, I ended up wearing these most often on my trip trough southern Mexico, both in town and in the mountains/jungle. The cuff zips allow you to take them off without undoing your boots or mudding up the legs.
These are thin, but they wick moisture well and the pockets are lined with a mesh that prevents "wallet sweat."
I would recommend them for any warm weather packing or travel.

Good hiking pants --- for warm weather By Guitarman from Richmond, CA on 01/10/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These nylon pants will do well for summer hiking, and are fine for most day-to-day occasions. I bought them hoping for something a little better for weather below 50 degrees F. The fit is good, although the upper legs in "shorts" mode are a little long for my taste (knee-cap length). They are plenty tough, though thin for warm weather.
