By outside from Atlanta on 12/20/2008 Pros: High-Quality Material and Stitching Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The length was a bit short, but not so short that I can't wear them with bulky hiking boots. I'm a 32 length. The thighs fit a bit more snug than most hiking pants, but not so tight as to be an obstacle. In addition, the fit in the thighs make them a bit more attractive as casual/travel pants, as opposed to the more baggy fit in my other convertible hiking pants.
By Ben from Houston, TX on 12/10/2008 Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: velcro fasteners on the cargo pockets are useless.
Nice product, solid construction! By 313HTPDET from Motown! on 12/01/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the hiking pants! great features for the price. only complaint is that they run a little "slim" (i'm 6'2", 215lbs, normally a size 34w 34l...i've always had large thighs and chicken-calves), i would recommend getting a size larger if you like more room to move; the tags state that it is an active fit which slightly tapers towards the ankles. otherwise, overall another well made product by columbia.
By Karnak the Magnificant from Walnut Creek, CA on 11/25/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good for golf on a cool morning when the afternoon is going to be much warmer.
Great pants for the trail By Elbarto from Arizona on 11/24/2008 Pros: Ankle Zips, Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable Cons: Velcro Patches Too Small Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Well designed pants for hiking in changeable weather. The ankle zips let you remove the legs w/o taking off your boots. These pants have individual waist sizes rather than S,M,L, etc., which makes for a great fit. The only thing keeping them from being perfect are the tiny velcro patches on the rear & cargo pockets that don't keep the them securely closed.
By JMSEMIA from STUTTGART GERMANY on 11/22/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: SOME TIGHT FEELING IN THE UPPER LEGS AND HIPS WITH A HIGH / EXTENDED STRIDE, BUT TOLERABLE. MAY BE DUE TO MY 32 TOO SMALL, 34 TOO BIG WAIST SIZE.....GREAT LOOKING....GREAT FOR EVEN TERRAIN TREKKING.
You get what they advertise By no nickname from Napa, CA on 11/21/2008 Pros: Breathable, High-Quality Material and Stitching, Lightweight, Packable, Stylish Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great pants for hiking. Plenty of pockets to hold stuff you want to easily grab. Converts to shorts easily and I like the elastic waistband with the belt loops. I can wear them without a belt and if I put on a couple of pounds; they'll still fit.

I have used them on local excursions and find them to be comfortable and convenient.

The only bad thing about the pants they fit funny around my upper thigh area.
