They are, however, pretty scratchy at first. It takes about three washings to make them reasonably soft, and I think they will continue to get softer over time. Since the roughness is not a permanent problem, and since they are so nicely made, I did not take off any points.

They will take a few washings to soften up.

It is quite well made. It needs a touch-up with an iron before putting it on the comforter, but, fortunately, that isn't very often.
