I have given them for gifts and have several of my own. This is the best throw I have ever purchased and one of my all time favorite STP items.

We will give 2 as gifts and keep one. We live in Maine and keep the thermostat low in the winter. These blankets are perfect to have on your lap to ward off the chill--they are ultra soft and extremely warm. Plus, because of their generous size, they are perfect for my 6' 3" frame. Given his choice, our cat always picks the lap of the family member with the Johnstons of Elgin blanket for his evening nap.

So practical and the soul of comfort. I have pure cashmere blankets, pure pajmina throws, etc., but I seem to always reach for the bothy. I think part of it is because it is so practical and the soul of comfort. It is soft and warm, just the right thickness and size to curl up in or meditate in, and I don't worry about spilling things on it the way I do my more expensive blankets. I use it year round.
There are two things about it that could be improved. First, it tends to pill — possibly because of the lambswool — but not excessively; it pills just so much and then stops. Also, I'd like to see better colors. They are all sort of drab, and I wish they were lighter and more varied. Other than that, this is a great product.
