The blanket is just warm enough for cooler nights. It could be used in winter with another blanket underneath as well. The fabric is beautiful, and it is very well made. The king size has about a 12" drop on either side of the bed. Totally worth the price!

A good sized blanket too. So cozy I don't want to get out of bed!

For the colder nights (40 and below) need to add additional quilt or blanket. The different design on each side is a plus. It is light in weight but has great insulating value.
