Great dark olive overcoat By Warrigal from Australia on 03/04/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a terrific dark olive - darker than it looks on my monitor, and the colour really makes the coat. Unlike other respondents I don't think this runs big, but in my mind overcoats are generous, work over layers (think aran knits, not sleek modern ski shells) and blouse freely over lighter clothing - so if you covet that coat-dress, fitted look than by all means go down a size. Tall punters should note that the belt loops are set at a height suitable for the average woman (5'3-5'6'), and that while these can be easily lowered a little you will find that you will be belting over the very top of the pocket placket (I just let 'em dangle myself). This is a practical, comfortable coat but the dense polycotton wrinkles easily - you'll need to steam press it out of the box if this matters to you. The classic English design may be a little wellies-and-headscarves for some but I like it - somehow understated, and you'll never look like you're trying too hard. Finally, the lining is in fact partial - the front is lined with the pockets incorporated in those layers, the back appears to have a self-lining bonded to the inside of the fabric.

nice coat, but I returned it By MiMi from VA on 02/09/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I would have kept the coat if the waist had
not been so high. The belt tied around my
ribcage instead of my waist.
I was disappointed that it didn't work for me
By gottabebigdogs from N. Cal. on 11/23/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, High-end shopper, Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The dark olive is luscious. The design is practical and classic. This coat is an elegant mid- to lower calf length and has high end detailing, like a rear walking vent whose opening can be adjusted by opening or closing buttons covered by a placket. If you are tall, you can open the vent to match stride. There are inside pockets...three of them. The raglan shoulder design fits well. The arms are a bit narrow for a heavy sweater, but it is doable. A nice coat for commuting in fall.
The coat fits well and looks nice. It is a nice coat.
By sk from Denver on 11/03/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office, Office Meetings, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This coat is very large, and does not have the style the short drover has. Rather boring, and even though the advertisement says it's fully lined, there wasn't a bit of lining anywhere.
By noname from ky on 09/04/2008 Describe Yourself: Practical Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Looks awful on. I wear a 6 or 8 normally and this coat was so huge with so much extra material that I was swimming in the coat.
This "Partridge" is good in hand & bush. The only downside is how easily it wrinkles.
