By cheftas from Houston Texas on 03/28/2009 Pros: Warm, Waterproof, Xtra-long Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I tried a couple of cheaper alternatives, which either did not fit right or would not do the job. This is an extra length coat with all the well thought ideas from clips and rings to hand warmth. The extra length will help keep knees and butt warm when sittting by the camp fire.

I love this coat!

By outdoorsy gal from upstate, ny on 02/07/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great coat andincredibly warm. It has all these pockets and practicality to it and an awesome telescoping hood for severe winds. You have to know that you need this stuff orwill use it, because ifnot then it might not be worth it to you, but if your looking for warmth and lots of down and an awesome hood with a coat that has tons of pocket storage..then this is the coatfor you. I found it true to size. I take a L usually and it was fine.
By goose downlover from upstate ny on 01/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a gorgeous coat. It is extremely warm and has loads and loads of pockets inside and out for carrying stuff. It has a lovely internal drawstring to tighten. I had read it ran large, but I found it true to size. I always take a large and so be it! The hood is awesome. It is extremely large but it can be adapted down to fit your size of head with pull cords. The fur on it is luxurious, as well as the gorgeous soft fake fur on the inner rim of the hood. The hood is really meant to help you stay protected with extreme winds and it does the trick like nothing else. It is a gorgeously made coat. I do feel, as someone else said, you have had to have had or tried many other down coats and their subsequent features to truly be able to appreciate this coat. If this is your first coat, I am not sure you would appreciate it. It also manages to stay far lighter than a comparable knock off without all of the detail. I think the down is of such quality that they can use less to get the same warmth ratio. It is amazingly warm. I actually sweat in it in upstate ny, with just a work shirt on underneath. If you want unparallel warmth and total function to do stuff this is the coat for you. If your worrying about style v. functionality then I'm not so sure. I do find it has a style of it's own, harking to retro, but others would probably say no.

By Grandma from Kotzebue Alaska on 01/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I live north of the arctic circle and this parka is great. I don't have to wear snow pants every day. It can be very windy here and I don't have to wear a scarf and face mask.
Can't believe how warm this coat is! By PJ from Chicago on 12/31/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Plenty of pockets, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I first wore this coat when the temperature outside hovered around 25 degrees below zero and I was actually hot in it. I will probably only wear it on the very coldest days, but it was well worth the money and it definitely lived up to it's reputation.
By Arctic dreamer from Cambridge Bay, CA on 12/21/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm, Windproof Best Uses: Extreme Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Many locals wear this parka here in the Arctic. For me the best feature of this outfit is the design of the hood. With the built-in wire it can block even the strong Arctic wind. The other day I hiked for 2 hours in the minus-30-40ºC weather. The parka kept me so warm that I was actually sweating.
By Lyn from Phoenix, AZ on 12/19/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Sooo comfortable. My only gripe is the silly emblem on the sleeve. It a very well thought out coat, though, plenty of places to put gloves, etc. The fur collar to the hood is easily removable. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
