She wore the top and bottom as a 1st layer and reported to me that she stayed warm throughout her few hours of skiing, even on a cold day (about 20 degrees F). The fit is a bit small, so but the next size up.

Now, I can't get my son to take them off long enough to wash them -- had to buy another set. My daughter is nearly as devoted to hers. All depending, the kids sleep in them, lounge in them, go out in the snow in them, wear them under their school clothes or just wander around the house in them. Can't do much better than that.
