I don't see them as thermal underwear, but rather as leggings for cold weather.

They're warm enough to be worn after skiing without any pants over them.

By Skimom from Warwick, NY on 03/14/2009 Pros: Retains Body Heat, Soft, Stretchy, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Outdoor Activities Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was very happy with these for my son. They are great under his insulated ski pants. I got one size larger than he wears so he could put another layer underneath if we want to. They are very thick, though, and must be pulled up in order to put his ski boots on - they won't fit in the boot. Not a big deal and he stays warm, so he stays happy longer!
Great for layering and / or sleeping By W.A. from Franklin, NC on 03/04/2009 Pros: Retains Body Heat, Soft, Stretchy Best Uses: Lounging, Outdoor Activities, Sleeping, Under Clothes Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Inseam: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Just wanted to comment about the sizing on these pants. I bought these for my daughter, who recently moved to Boston. She's 18 years old, weighs about 95 pounds, is 5'1", and usually wears a size 3 in juniors. The kids' size large fit her perfectly. These pants are soft, wash beautifully, and she says they keep her toasty warm in the Boston winter. Great product, very reasonably priced.
