They block out most of the light from the street light across the street but don't make my room too dark during the day. My only problem with them is that they are a bit too narrow for my windows so light comes in around them. I couldn't find the correct size for my 36" windows.

I put them over my 8 foot sliding doors and they covered them when spread apart all the way. They did block light and were a very nice weight. They hung nicely; however, I didn't keep them because they were a little too short for where I wanted them unfortunately.

The sienna color matches my living room perfectly. The length was too long, but was easy to fix. I also put them in my kitchen and my boys' bedrooms. Great price and does the job. Keeps
out the south facing sun and heat in the summer and keeps the heat in in the winter! THANKS

The curtains are fabric on the room side and coated on the outside. I was looking for curtains that would reduce sunlight entering and heating up my rooms, and the curtains seem to do this. They are simple and nice quality. I had to shorten them and could do this with a sewing machine (it would be hard to hem these sewing by hand).

The quickest solution was to try insulated panels. After shopping in dept. stores and checking websites, I opted to try these. They are remarkable for the price, comparable to others in stores for at least twice as much. The panels unfolded with hardly a crease from shipping and even those hung out within 24 hrs. The workmanship is EXCELLENT, not even a loose thread. Since I will not be using them once the weather cools, I hung them on a spring-loaded rod whose color blends with the wall color and is easily taken down. The tab tops make it easy to slide the panels out of the way to open the door once the sun has left. Without these curtains the room would not be usable once the temp hits 90 F. even w/ a large ceiling fan. Now the room is reasonably comfortable except on the hottest of days. I bought pairs in two colors,intending to keep one and return the other. I Kept both. I have not washed them yet so I cannot attest to their durability in that regard.
