Plain but reduces energy usage By Neptune6 from Montgomery, AL on 07/30/2008 Pros: Blocks Out Light, Conserves energy, Easy To Hang, Quality Construction Best Uses: Bedroom, Living Room, Privacy Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, Environmentalist, High-End Shopper, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these panels for my upstairs home office, which has two windows facing east and two windows facing south. In the Deep South in the summer that made for one roasting hot and bright room. These curtains block most of the light and their insulated white backing does an excellent job of reflecting heat and sun back to the outside. The room is almost 10 degrees cooler now. Your home won't end up on the pages of a home style magazine with these plain jane curtains, but the fabric is of a very regular and durable quality -- and you will be helping to save the earth while cutting down on your own energy expense! You've gotta love that! I just wish that the manufacturers of thermal curtains would give us some more "stylin'" choices of fabric.

By p00nicknick from Seattle, WA on 07/06/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Blocks Out Light, Easy To Clean, Easy To Hang, Quality Construction Best Uses: Bedroom, Kitchen, Living Room, Privacy Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, High-End Shopper, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these curtains to cover a very large sliding glass door which lets it a lot of heat in the summer and a lot of cold in the winter. I couldn't be more pleased. Although they seem very thin they do the job of what I used to have in it's place (plaid, lined curtains I made myself). The color is beautiful (I ordered taupe) and very rich. They hang nicely and the cat hair (I have three) comes off very easily. Overall I am very pleased with this product and just wish they made a wider valence for the corresponding window in the kitchen!

I paired up up with curtains that match the bedspread. Used double rod to hang and metal tie backs up high to clear the door when opened.

By lake211 from East Coast, N. Carolina on 06/23/2008 Pros: Blocks Out Light, Easy To Hang, Quality Construction Best Uses: Bedroom, Living Room, Privacy Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these drapes for my living room to match the colors I have in a Pottery Barn rug. They look great together and now my room finally has a more pulled together polished look. I also bought them for privacy since we've had a recent neighborhood break-ins so I wanted to feel more secure after dark. I had a hard time finding ready-made drapes in my price range since my windows are odd sizes but I managed to buy three seperate packages in the dark red. I used three panels on the larger window with one panel in the middle, flanked by one panel on each side and just the two panels on the smaller window. I had my doubts but it worked wonders for the look of my room which is at my front door so now I feel proud when people come!
