By gunner from baltimore, md on 05/19/2008 Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Having to scan all FM channels rather than be able to scan oneself is a nuisance. I prefer to be able to look for a channel.
By barky from lawrence, kansas on 05/08/2008 Cons: not long enough range Best Uses: Portable Devices Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought two of these; one for office, one for home. Neither of them got reception. My mom bought one for home and hers works great. I'm thinking that I'm in an area where we don't get good reception therefore need a radio with "extreme range". I returned both of mine but Mom kept hers and is using it.
By barky from lawrence, kansas on 05/05/2008 Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought 3 of these radios. One for my work, one for my home, and one for my mom. However, my two did not get ANY RECEPTION at all at work or at home. My mom's got fine reception. I read all the instructions, tried everything possible, and only got static. Also sent one home with a coworker and he got no reception. So my take is that my two either did not work at all or we were out of the reception area. I returned them and bought a pair of shoes instead.

By Rich from Western Massachusetts on 04/28/2008 Cons: Defective No weather Best Uses: Home weather safety Describe Yourself: Tech Savvy Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Receives FM stations but no weather on any of the 7 channel settings. Other weather scanners in the house receive NWS with no problems. Defective or junk? Will return for credit.

weak weather station reception By jp nuts from spokane, wa on 04/15/2008 Cons: Weak reception of weather Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Have an 1980s sometging radio shack weather radio that way outperforms this radio for weather station reception. Disappointing performance. Wonder how strong the reception will be for a weather event warning
By Tom from New Hampshire on 04/12/2008 Pros: Consistent Performance Best Uses: In The Car, Portable Devices, Travel Describe Yourself: Tech Savvy Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good little radio for price. Picks up NOAA stations clearly. A plus when you live in rural areas
Should last longer than 24 hrs on 9v bat By jjself from Durango, CO on 04/01/2008 Pros: Does Severe Wthr Warnings Cons: Works if plugged into AC Describe Yourself: Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When in the wild and out of cell phone range, this radio will warn of impending Tornado or flood dangers with a loud siren. Unfortunately if you're out more than 1 day, you can't just leave it on, because the battery will die after 24 hours. So either you pack in a battery per day, or you just turn it on to check every so often.
