By BudgetShopper from Seattle, WA on 10/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Looks Great Best Uses: Business Casual, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When I first got these shoes, I didn't realize how much they really do look like bowling shoes. The picture on STP website doesn't show behind the shoe to show the colored heel. But after wearing them for awhile, I'm really liking the new "bowler" style. I read an earlier review saying it was a half-size too small, so I ordered a size 9 instead of size 8.5 which in hindsight was a good idea. The comfort is decent, except there's absolutely no arch support which is something I need because I have severely flat feet. So if you have flat feet, you'll need to add some kind of special insole or look for another shoe. Also, you need to be careful when walking on slippery surfaces such as a freshly mopped tiled floor because the bottom part of the shoe has rivets and has terrible traction for slippery ground. This obviously is more for style than for function.
I've only worn these shoes for a week, so I don't know too much about the quality of the shoe. I haven't gotten them wet either to test how easily the water will soak through.
Other than that, it's a good, comfortable casual shoe. I have the green color pair, and I would buy another pair for brown.

What's great about it is that it is both stylish and comfortable, and is a great price for a quality shoe.
By Lynda the wife from Alabama on 08/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes for my husband to wear to work. Excellent value. Stylish and durable. By Verdi from New York on 08/03/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Stable Cons: No Arch Support, Not Enough Cushioning, Slippery on ice Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A good combination of durability, adequate comfort and style. One pair required extensive breaking in at the rear ankle, but a second pair was fine. Good for general wear in most weather (except snow and ice), and dries out well after getting wet.
By Wily from South Dakota on 07/01/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Looks Great, Stable Best Uses: Business Casual, Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Geez. Nice shoes! Sure they look like bowling shoes, but they also look cool. And the fit - comfort level is unique, but excellent. I'm so used to shoes that are made to cover or control the foot - these RedWings are more like a second skin with a protective sole. I like them very much - about the only thing the designer could have done differently is design them without the cheeky racing stripe up the side.
soft leather, stylish but somewhat prone By Jim from Phil., PA on 06/30/2009 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: certainly a great buy from STP: meets expectations, but exterior leather seems like it might wear more quickly then rest of shoe. Somewhat flat sole (no distinct sole/heel variation) leads to some slap-slap when walking on flat surfaces
By Wily from South Dakota on 06/25/2009 Pros: Durable, Looks Great Best Uses: Business Casual, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice shoes - quirky, comfy and well-made. Of course, they look like bowling shoes, but shoes should make a statement. Quality of materials is very good - gluing and stitching are first-rate.
If you're looking for hiking shoes, I wouldn't rely on these, but for out-about, office/after-hours, they're perfect.
almost bought a third pair By comfort driven from Washington on 06/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Looks Great Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband sometimes has a hard time finding shoes that are wide enough, but these shoes come in several widths, and he loves them. After the second, he almost bought a third pair.

They appear to be very well-made and required no break-in. They are lightweight and a pleasure to wear. These will be among my favorites for casual wear with jeans and the like.
