Fantastic Jacket - Trim Fit By BigJon from Marietta GA on 02/25/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Breathable, Comfortable, Stylish, Tough Cons: Could use more venting, No reflective material Best Uses: Long Rides, Poor Weather, Protection Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Order your true size - but be realistic. If your waist is proportionally large for your chest you might have to go up in size. I am 6'1" 180, 42" chest, 34" waist, it fits like a glove, meaning snug which is the way you want a bike jacket to fit. The shoulders and sleeve length are perfect. I wish it had some reflective to it and a few more vents would help and collar could be a little taller. Sleeve zippers do nothing. Looks? Like a road warrior.

This is the second Hein Gericke jacket I have owned, but it is the best one. High quality, lots of features, protective plates, breathable, low-cut in the back (for sportbike riders), removeable liner (which includes the full-length of the sleeves), and very sporty. You can't go wrong with this jacket. HIGHLY recommended!!

Good all season touring jacket By Colorado Trail Runner from Evergreen, CO on 08/16/2008 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish, Tough, Water resistant Best Uses: Long Rides, Poor Weather, Protection, Street Riding Motorsports: Casual Rider, Motorcycle Enthusiast Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My husband purchased a leather jacket from the same manufacturer for 15 years, and paid significantly more for it. This jacket is lighter in weight, more versatile, rain resistant and a better value.
By creeping death from ca on 08/12/2008 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Breathable, Comfortable, Stylish, Tough Best Uses: Long Rides, Poor Weather, Protection, Street Riding Motorsports: Casual Rider, Motorcycle Enthusiast Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: First off, I must commend the staff at sierra! I had one of the best experiences purchasing.... and returning for the right size. I read all of the reviews for this jacket and took into consideration that most buyers complained that the jacket was too small. That being said, I ordered the xl as I would normally wear a lg. I am 5'11 170lbs in shape, and I found the xl to be way to big for me, so that got me thinking. This is a touring jacket, and when I'm on the road I notice that most riders on touring bikes aren't the fittest chaps. If you are in relavent shape and normally wear a lg jacket, BUY THE LARG SIZE!
The xl left huge amounts of room in the shoulders and arms making the shoulder pad float when you would want them to be more snug. Overall this is an awesome jacket with ample storrage, vents and a water resitant quilted zip out liner for hotter days. I highly recoment this jacket if you can get your propper size. Chicks dig it too.

By Del Pez from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 06/24/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, WaterWindproof Cons: Slight draft around neck Best Uses: Long Rides, Poor Weather, Riding in Canada Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I tour on my 1998 CBR900RR sports bike. I first wore this jacket on a four day 2500 km trip through the Canadian Rocky Mountains with a mix of heavy rain, strong winds and warm sunny days (cruising at high speed). It kept me dry and comfortable. I wore just a wicking base layer underneath (T-shirt) and used a neck warmer to stop the slight draft around my neck. On the warm sunny days I opened all the vents and the front zipper 1/4 way down and I kept cool. The leather elbows and shoulders as well as the CE armor gives me confidence that I am well protected as well (though I hope never to find out). Excellent touring jacket because I was never messing around with a separate rain suite. Storing the rain suite and taking it on & off whenever the weather changed. The all in one touring gear is the way to go. I travel with as little as possible.
I would highly recommend this jacket (in fact I did and my friend likes it to). I do not have long term experience with the jacket so it waits to be seen how it holds up over time.
Note on sizing, I am 5'9" and 165 lbs (175cm, 75kg) and a suite size US 38-40 the Medium is a little roomy without the liner and just right with the liner.
