Best binoculars for the money, excellent
By CRVerified Reviewer from Colorado on 09/18/2009
Pros:
Compact, Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction, Works Well With Glasses
Best Uses:
Bird Watching, Hunting, Sporting Events/Concerts, Wildlife Viewing
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Probably the best binoculars you can get for the money. One of the smallest 10X42's I have seen. Great optics, on par with the Leicas, Zeiss, and Steiners. Great field of view, great with or without glasses, very sharp definition. Highly reccomend them.

Comments:
I should start by saying that these are the first quality binoculars I've ever owned, so I don't have much in the way of comparison. But I have to say that I'm completely impressed. Crystal clear view. No eye strain. Solid construction. The only thing keeping me from giving them five stars is the lack of a lens cover for the objective (large) lens.

Comments:
I purchased the BF10X42 Minox a few weeks ago and have used them a lot. The more I use them the more satisfied I am. I was a bit nervous about buying these as I wasn't sure of their quality and optical performnce. Not anymore; I couldn't be happier with them. I have no "Cons" to list as I have found nothing that I have not expected. The optical "glass" is very high quality, fully multi-coated, clear, sharp and true color. Construction is very good (what I would consider "strong and durable"), the focus features are good, with the twist up cups like my Nikon Extremes. They are a bit heavy for their compact size, but that is what you should expect in a quality pair of binoculars that have the features this product has. And this isn't my first pair of quality binoculars. I own and use Nikon 12X50 Action Extreme bino's for groundhog hunting. Good binoculars- good value and I won't knock them. Very similiar in features and quality to the Minox, but the Extremes are porro prism, full-size binoculars; not a more compact roof prism bino. I have to have waterproof binoculars. I hunt groundhogs in the Spring and Summer in hot humid weather where unexpected thunderstorms occasionally pop up in the afternoon that drenches you and your equipment before you can walk back to your vehicle that may be more than a mile away. My binoculars must also have the high quality optics that enable me to find small, drab colored animals that blend into their surroundings in hundreds of acres of green alfala fields. [...]

Varmint Hunter

Pros:
Close Focus, Compact, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction
Best Uses:
Hunting, Wildlife Viewing
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I only use binoculars for groundhog hunting...no other times do I use them or any other. I have Nikon Action Extreme 12X50 that I have used for the past few years and they are pretty darn good but big and clumbersome, especially when I'm shooting from the prone position or walking for any distances carrying my 13 pound rifle, ammo, water, snacks, rangefinder and binoculars in the hot humid summer alfalfa fields of Southern PA. These are slightly better at picking out small animals in green fields at long distances than the Nikons. Resolution and brightness is great. So is the the trueness of color- no blurring on the dges nor distortion. Exceptional value and high quality to boot- what is not to like?
