I wore them camping and it was raining. My feet stayed warm and dry. The boots are easy to clean. I just took a damp cloth and wiped them down. They are very light weight compared to other boots and not break in time needed! I did go up a size.
Really attractive, but run small. By T.racy from Cornwall, NY on 07/03/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer, Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I read the reviews about sizing - so I went a size larger. Glad I did. These boots are so cool. Can't wait to wear them in the Fall/Winter on the construction sites.
By ang from CO on 06/30/2008 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Sturdy/Durable Cons: Not much arch support, Order half size larger Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I did not get to test out the water resistance, which I think is very important. They were pretty nice for a mild to medium hike. I don't think I'd like to wear these on harsh (rocky) terrain when wet. Also, hard to get real tight and supportive, so I wouldn't want to have a real heavy pack (>45lbs). They worked for what I needed them for. And of course, very cute.
By Runs with beer from Klamath Falls, Or on 06/20/2008 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Flexible, Great Traction, Water Resistant Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I took these on a two week trek to Alaska, right out of the box! Wore them every day. They do run a little small, I read the reviews, so I ordered a half size larger. I noticed that the type of socks made a big differance in the warmth. It was great to walk through glacial streams like a kid and stay dry! Loved Alaska and these boots!
By Hiking Izzy from MA on 06/17/2008 Pros: Ankle Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Sturdy/Durable, Water Resistant Cons: Not enough cushion small Best Uses: Cold Weather, Day Hiking, Everyday, Harsh Terrain, Long-Distance Hiking, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The sizing is difficult to judge. I ordered 1/2 size up thanks to previous reviews, but even with the larger size I may need to return them for a larger pair as I can't wear thick socks with them. Have not tried them outside yet since I'm trying to decide if I want to exchange them. I love the look, they appear to have good traction and be water proof.
By artist from Minneapolis on 05/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was so thrilled to find these cute boots! I had given away all my ankle boots and lace-up booties after a long injury, and have not been able to find any this year... the J41 shoes are all well stuctured and comfy, plus these are cute and red to "boot!" I agree that you should order a bit up in size.
