Too much whiz and not enough bang By Rose the runner from San Francisco, CA on 01/27/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight Best Uses: Going for a walk Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an attractive jacket. I ordered it in black and brown. A medium is normally a bit too big for me but I like to have the wiggle room for layering so it is the size I normally order. After reading the other comments, I bought this jacket in a large and a medium. I find it difficult to wear layers underneath both sizes. It is a fitted jacket in either size just one hugs closer to the body than the other. I think it goes well with an exercise top. Great for getting to and from a yoga class/exercise class or the gym. Also good for going on long walks. Keep in mind that it is a shell so it is a lightweight jacket. I have other shells that layer much better than this. It performed well in the most recent rain we had. If you don't mind the small fit, I would recommend this jacket. If you do mind, there are many other shells you can buy that layer much more easily.
By gorgegirl from Ithaca NY on 01/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight Cons: Not Packable, Not Warm, Poor Fit Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The fit on this jacket is so strange that I can't really tell if it's a great jacket or not! I'm 5'2" and 95 lbs. and always have trouble finding clothes small enough -- but the XS in this jacket is tight across the chest, short in the sleeves, and the hood is SO SMALL. It is definitely designed for someone with no chest and no neck -- you can only wear the hood if your shoulders are just below your ears. Very sad as I hoped this jacket would be as perfect as it seemed!
GREAT JACKET FOR A GREAT PRICE By Paulie from Edmonds, Washington on 01/11/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Great Color, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is an awesome product by Marmot for a deal through Sierra. However, I did order a size up at the recommendation of several other reviewers and was glad I did since the fit was perfect with sizing up. I received lots of compliments already and love the look of this softshell!
By Weekend warrior woman from Ellensburg WA on 01/08/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Great Color, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor sports Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I LOVE IT! The fur is sooo soft and cute! It is a fun flirty outdoor high-performance jacket. It is a thin material/ shell but is completely wind proof and really keeps me warm.
It runs a bit snug and feels very fitted. I like that fit so this is a plus for me, but it might be too snug for someone else.
By gearmaiden from Cambridge, MA on 01/02/2009 Best Uses: Daily Use, Travel, Work Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I normally wear a medium in Marmot products, and found this to be a similar fit except that the torso is extremely short. Going up a size for the appropriate length would have made the jacket too bulky. It's a shame, because I love the fur details -- gives it some spunk compared to traditional softshells.
By saabguy from Long Island, NY on 12/10/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Too small; purchased for daughter.
very cute, but fits small!!! By Pam from Grand Rapids, MN on 12/02/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Really cute jacket that seems like it would be very functional, but I was very disappointed to find that the large fit like a small-to-medium, and there was no XL available! Sleeves were proportional to the small fit also. I would suggest including the "small fit" information in the product description.
cute, well made, not insulated By None from Seattle, WA on 11/26/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a softshell, so no insulation, but unlike a raincoat it has a bit of stretch and a nice soft polarfleece innerfacing. Good for moderate weather (50F+)or colder only with a layer. The trouble with layers is that it runs small, but a thin sweater or vest works underneath. I ususally take a small, but I definitely wouldn't go less than a medium in this coat - and even that seemed a bit snug in the shoulders at first. If you're particularly well endowed I'd skip this one. But it's very cute, well made, soft lining and fur and a fun style with jeans.
By Jacket Junkie from Nampa ID on 11/08/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish, Versatile Cons: If you are a sm get med Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel, Work Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this jacket. I have brown and black. Wouldn't mind the grey if it was available. The sleeves are long but I have long arms and the jacket is so cute.
By Jen from Baltimore, MD on 11/03/2008 Sleeve Length: Feels too short Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very cute jacket if you're looking for a high quality but still stylish fall/mild winter jacket. I ordered a size Small and it fits me perfect - I am only 5'3" though so I think it might be run short (especially in the sleeves since they are perfect on me) for most average women. I wear a size 2 or 4 generally but I would bet I could almost wear a medium in this coat. So size up if in doubt! Definitely cuter in person too.. the pic seems boring but I really like the jacket. I have it in black!
