Frye Dalton boots are top of the line By Old Coyote from Northern California on 03/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Stylish Best Uses: Authentic western look, Casual Wear, Going Out Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Conservative, High-end shopper, Stylish Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots took a while to break in (due to my high instep); in fact, were diffcult to get on at first. However, with patience, they are exceptionally comfortable and well worth the wait. Between myself, my wife and daughter-in-law, I have purchased several pairs from Sierra Trading Post.
Frye Dalton Western Boots By Old Firefox from Redding, CA on 01/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Stable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Conservative, Stylish Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Thease are the most amazing Western boots I have ever put on.
I originally ordered my normal 8 1/2 size, which was nearly impossible to get on due to my high instep. I exchanged for 9's, which were easier to get on and comfortable to wear. However wrinkles later developed where foot/shoe bends at base of toes due to excessive length/looseness. I later ordered another pair in brown color size 8 1/2 since 9's were available. I had to really fight to get these on and pretty tight at first with thin socks; however, after wearing for short spells and increasing sock thickness to create stretching, the boots now fit better then anything I have ever worn. The fit is so good, it's almost sensual!!
Just wish I had learned the above before the stock depleted as I would have bought 2 pairs each of black and brown!!
PS: these also make excellent dress boots for the ladies in the smaller sizes. I bought several pairs for wife and daughter-in-law. Also fit better initially with women and little breakin required compared to men.

By Klaus from Toon City, Japan on 12/25/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The boots themselves looked pretty good also in refernce to quality. The problem was that they were too tioght. I was unable to put my foot in there! Good for people with more than narrow sized feet.

very slim fit - not for wide feet By Nikk from New Zealand on 05/05/2008 Cons: Slim foot only, Too Stiff Describe Yourself: Conservative Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The boots look good, and can be worn to work under long pants. Purchased 1/2 bigger than normal and had to have the middle bits stretched, the lenght is OK, but not for wide feet.
Great boots....very comfortable. By AZ Cowboy from Scottsdale, az on 04/09/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Great Looking, Stable, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Riding Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Equestrian, High-end shopper Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Boot look great and fit well. I have a slightly narrow foot and they are the best fitting boots so far...without having to go down a size to get the width to fit correctly. The suede shaft is super comfortable and you dont need to wear high socks... due to the softness of the suede boot shaft. I take a size 10 and it fits great. Great looking and I may pick up a pair in Black...

By ray in nc from pinenut NC on 02/18/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Cool looking unique, Durable, Stable Cons: Causes Hotspots or Blisters, Takes time to break in, Too Stiff Best Uses: Business suits, Formal Events Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Contrarian, Stylish Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I almost returned these boots because they were very tight, hard to get on and off and put presure on the outside middle of my foot. But decided that these boot "needed" some breaking in.
Was in baltimore and wore them on a very cold and windy winter day and walked the whole inner harbor in comfort.
Three weeks out the right boot feels great, left is still tigh only "when getting them on and off" BUT had cause a blister on top of foot due to this. I expect these great boot to stretch here too
