The jacket and hood are both lightly insulated, too--just what I wanted. The over-the-hip length will keep my clothes dry as I walk to work. This is a nearly perfect garment for my needs.
My only concern with this coat is the handwarmer pocket arrangement. Will the pockets gape open and allow blowing rain to enter the coat? The pockets do not snap or zip shut, an unfortunate oversight in the design. I may have to sew them shut.

By DeeDee from England on 01/10/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Versatile, Warm Cons: A bit tight across hips Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very versatile, mid-weight jacket. It is a bit tight across the hips though, so when sitting it is more comfortable if you unzip it a bit from the bottom. Also, the lined hand pockets are the diagonal ones, which are a bit high and may take some getting used to.
