The price, however, was prohibitive. I found this one at Sierra and it fit the bill perfectly.

Classic, English and a wee bit different By All things British from Southwest Missouri on 06/22/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a tried and true Barbour fan. I wear a classic wax Beaufort in fall, winter and spring. We are going to the UK for holiday and the weather is a bit cooler and more rainy in the summer, especially up north but not cold enough for the classic Beaufort. I wanted a rain jacket that was light and functional for various temps and weather conditions but not as heavy as the classic Beaufort. I found these and thought I would give it a go. Last week a big rain came and I used it for the first time, it was incredible at keeping the rain out. I hate to say this but it was a bit more waterproof than the original wax one. The other plus is no waxing is necessary.
I highly recommend this jacket and the hood is a great extra that I plan on keeping on this jacket most of the time. The sleeves are a bit long and I plan on having a seamstress take those up a bit.
If there is any con to the jacket it would be that it is not made in the UK like the original Barbour Beaufort. Like many other companies outsourcing and cheaper labour have taken over for good sense and tradition.

Every detail that makes a great jacket has been covered, and I look forward to many years of staying dry and warm under this jacket.
Perfect light weight coat By Cliff from Bay Area -- California on 06/18/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Already own a classic olive waxed-cotton Beaufort which I love and wear extensively for domestic and international travels. I even worn it while window shopping on Savile Row and felt right at home. It is rugged and stylish but too heavy for Spring/Autumn.
I wear a U.S. 39 Reg. and the red medium was slightly big and the color too bright (not the rich red I expected.) So I exchanged it for a wheat (darker than the picture, more like light tawny) small which fits me perfectly even with a sweater or light sports coat underneath.
The only drawback is that it does not have the large back pocket as in a regular Beaufort.
At the discounted price, it is a fantastic deal.
By Music Bob from Nashville,Tn. on 06/11/2009 Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's all there, quality, style, performance, with a excellent price. Great value, however runs very large. I normally wear a XL this coat was more like a 3X. To Bad.

I love the jacket.
Orange is nice, not too bright and the hood (free, but usually costs 45.00) is great! Fits perfectly.
I couldn't be happier. Unless they offered me the red one for free.
As long as they keep selling, I'll continue to shop there.
