By Hiker from Los Angeles from Los Angeles, CA on 05/19/2009 Pros: Breathable, Great Traction Best Uses: Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Great buy and pretty shoe. Heel rubbed so much I got big blisters. I returned it.
By birchroot from Middlebury Center, PA on 03/17/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Dries Quickly, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, At The Gym, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Avid hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are comfortable but sturdy just a little stiff out of the box. They will need some break-in time. I think I will have many good hiking days in these shoes. I like that they are a little more sturdy than the really lightweight hikers. They will not wear out as quickly and will give a little better protection on those jagged PA rocks. They do run big. I usually take a size 8 and I ordered a 7 1/2. They are still a little big.
By mrscatrogers from jacksonville, fl on 10/11/2008 Best Uses: Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Trail Jogger, Trailrunnerwannabe Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just used these on the Bald Eagle Mountain Megatransect--a brutal 25.5 mile hike/run. They provided good traction & stability. They feel about 1/2 size too big and have a roomy toe box. This works out since I added an extra insole and wore thick trail socks. There is some slipping on the heel but is not an issue if you wear taller socks. Pretty good overall. I probably would buy again. It took many try ons and returns w/ STP to find a suitable pair of trail runners--they are virtually unavailable in Florida.
I have bought this product over and over By loves almost all things dog from southern New Mexico on 07/23/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Perfect fit, Stable Cons: Not Water Resistant, Wish they had speed laces Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The first time I tried these shoes on at the Cheyenne Outlet, they fit perfectly. I kept walking around in them sure that they would start to hurt.
I love the fit of these shoes so much, I now have 3 pair.
Still breaking them in... By AMF from Walnut Creek, CA on 06/12/2008 Best Uses: Everyday, Walking the dog Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes look good in person and fit well. I am a little worried that the sole seems quite stiff. After using them a few more times I hope to break them in and mold them to my feet. The soles, unfortunately, squeak a little even on concrete! Luckily that only happened a few times. I hope that goes away too...
By landscaper from NC on 06/04/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: if the size had been right, i still would have had to return these shoes. after a few minutes of walking around the house, the shoe started rubbing the bottom of my ankle. they are also not the most comfortable, too little cushion in sole.
By sparrow from grand rapids, mi on 05/28/2008 Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes were nice for the discount price. The color is a bit more red than it looks online. They are comfortable for knocking around/day hikes, but they didn't "wow" me. I think the sizing runs a bit big. I am a true 6 and the size 6 felt big - it was European sized 37 1/2 and I usually wear a 37.
would buy again if had them in my size By Disappointed from Rochester, NY on 05/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Felt great Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They felt perfect except they were a half size too big. Even though, they were the most comfortable that I've had on my feet in many years. I was really upset that they didn't have the next size down.Unfortunately, I had to return them.
By unafordable from Wilmington, NC on 05/01/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've been hiking around my home for the past week with these shoes. From the first day I hiked in them, they were comfortable. I do wear hiking socks. My feet are stable and I've had no problems with any side to side movement. My left shoe seems to be squeaky but it doesn't affect how my foot feels in the shoe, which is great.
