By JERRY from Dublin, CA on 07/08/2009 Describe Yourself: Conservative Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It is bad design for this shoe especially for belt.
By nodak steve from Harvey, ND on 07/08/2009 Describe Yourself: Conservative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The "quick release" is nearly impossible to actuate; the buckle adjustment is cumbersome; the footwear is difficult to get on and off. Once it is on, it is fine. I will keep it, but if I knew then what I now know, I would not have bought it.
Not so great for everyone By Boundry Waters Tripper from Portland OR on 07/07/2009 Describe Yourself: Conservative Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is clearly a guide evolution. Owned three of the older models over ~15 years. The grip on these is legendary. I use them in the BWCA portaging 100+ pounds and a canoe on my back and they do NOT slip. Watched many others slip and slide with vibram or other soles. This guide is not as adjustable. Its got a button for release on the sole. It is tough to get to release. Also, adjustment range is not good for everone. We bought 4 pair for the family, and will return 3 for fit reasons. The 4th pair is already showing signs of button stick. Not recommended for sandy conditions.
Quick release buckle a problem. By Snowbag from Rochester, NY on 06/20/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The quick release buckle doesn't retract enough for my relatively narrow feet, leaving slack strapping by the top of the foot over the ankle. I have similar pair of Tevas with "Wraptor"-like straps that fit fine. But the new buckle made it so these had to returned.
Great Product, Extra Wide Feet Beware By Rick from NW Ohio on 06/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stylish Cons: Front Straps unadjustable Best Uses: Camping, Canoeing, Everyday Wear, Kayaking, Rafting, River-Running, Travel Describe Yourself: Alternative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These sandals are amazingly sturdy feeling and felt as though they were designed with the wearer in mind. Unfortunatley the front strap is not adjustable and someone like me with wide feet that normally fits into a size 14 Teva with no problems needs a wide size available here. Wide feet beware otherwise this is an amazing product.
By Busy Man from Bristol, TN on 06/02/2009 Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The buckle system is a bit cumbersome as some other reviews indicate. Plan on having to sit down to release it. Otherwise, they seem like a good sandal for the price. I am skeptical as to how long the top piece of rubber for a footbed will last before working loose from the midsole, but, only time will tell. The main problem that caused me to send them back and reorder was the strap on the left sandal was about 2 inches longer than the strap on the right sandal when both were adjusted to the same place. Perhaps a size ten strap was used on a size eight sandal or something. I am looking forward to the new pair arriving because despite the cons they seem like a great sandal for the clearance price.
By m from michigan on 06/02/2009 Describe Yourself: Conservative Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: just an awful design to get on and off. impossible and uncomfortable. you would need to be a contortionist.
By runsfarforfun from St. Joseph, MO on 05/29/2009 Cons: Causes Hotspots or Blisters, Strap Chafes Describe Yourself: Conservative Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for sitting around, but not great for walking due to strap rubbing on top of foot.
Just my opinion! Very shoddy design! By Optimo from Hemet, CA on 05/28/2009 Cons: Poor design on the buckle, Poorley put together, Wraptor straps too short Describe Yourself: Down to earth Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was very surprised at how this sandal was designed and constructed. I thought that the buckle system embeded in the sole was not the most brilliant idea and a push button release, get real. Had I known about this I would not have ordered them but it was not described well nor pictured. I have ordered two Teva wraptor system sandals and I find Teva does not put enough strapping on them for me. Both returned. Hooray for velcro!
