These are great shoes, for pavement or off-road trails. I used them for a huge farmers mkt, & I also plan to use these for my hikes in Montana in the next couple weeks!
I did order 1/2 size up (as noted), so they fit perfectly!
comfortable basic hiking shoes By Magnus from Hollywood, CA on 06/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Stabilizes Foot Cons: Not Water Resistant, Poor Traction Best Uses: At The Gym, Everyday, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Gym Rat, Recreational Walker/Hiker, Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Not much to say about these shoes except they are comfortable light hiking shoes. There are far better, more comfortable, versatile shoes out there, but heck, the price of these shoes are just right --- can't really complain.

They also appeared mis-shapen. I guess I am just a Salomon snob.

By BlackDog from Wrentham, MA on 03/31/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Cons: Have not encountered any Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these because others said they run wide and I have wide feet and bunions (which I plan to have surgically corrected so I'm sure these shoes will fit even better). They are comfortable and I have yet to wear them for more 2 or 3 hours. I will be hiking the Cotswolds and needed something more substantial than a running shoe but not so 'overkill' like my hiking boots - I think these will work just fine. So far - no 'hot spots' on my feet since they have enough give, but no so much that they don't have sufficient support. And... can't beat this price! Great value!

They fit my foot perfectly. The quality is good and they're rugged enough to walk comfortably off-trail but light enough for sidewalk crusing.
