By kiliklimber from New Jersey on 07/12/2009 Cons: Not Comfortable, Not flexible Best Uses: Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Love the look of this shoe, however I find it to be too hard soled for my use. I think this shoe would be good for all day trail hiking/scrambling, but it is too hard for daily use for me - carpenter, on my feet all day.
Great, but a little narrow. By Desert hiker from SW Utah on 07/10/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the Lowa brand because it has always fit my foot beautifully. So these shoes, surprisingly, seem to be a bit narrow. If you want to wear thick hiking socks with these shoes, you might not be able to. That was disappointing, but if your feet are naturally narrow, you'll love these shoes.
By Nonna from Blythewood, South Carolina on 06/22/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased the product to replace a pair of 8 year old Lowa's I had (which I loved). I use these shoes for my daily dog walks on dirt and gravel roads. The Tempest are much stiffer than I anticipated and will require some break-in. They've done fine so far support-wise etc. but it's too early to tell if I would recommend them.
I probably would buy this product again, By sami from Santa Curz, CA on 06/20/2009 Pros: Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these shoes to replace my old Lowas. They seem to be fine so far. The insole is removable so I can use my own orthotics.
