Carolina and Colarado on 09/27/2007 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these shoes, only have 5 pairs. I use them for almost everything, hiking, rafting, yard work, daily wear. You name it. I have not had any issues with any of my pairs over the years. Great shoes. Buy every pair you can get.
Don't stand up to punishment. By Boundary waters guy from Atlanta, GA on 09/17/2007 Pros: Breathes Well, Lightweight Best Uses: Warm Weather river hiking Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes did not shed or drain water any better than just a typical pair of running shoes. These were the only shoes I brought to my week long trip to Boundary Waters. I wished I brought a pair of hiking boots as well. They started tearing after 3 days use, but that's probably due to the fact that they seemed just a bit too tight. The treads are nice and grippy. I might recommend these for light, warm, water adventures.
Good shoes, get the right size. By Erik the yakker from Bay Area on 09/14/2007 Pros: Breathes Well, Lightweight Best Uses: Boating, Kayaking Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are good, but if they are going to be used with a drysuit make sure you get a full size larger to fit the booties.
By Risi from Stony Brook, NY on 09/11/2007 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Cons: Loose stitches on one shu Best Uses: Casual Wear, Light-weight approach shu Describe Yourself: Alternative, Casual Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Shoes are okay for the money, they are light. I bought them as light-weight approach shoes to be used on trails. The perform well, the sole is providing good support on dirt trails.I give thumbs down to the fancy lacing system. It is impossible to loosen laces enough for getting to the shoes easily, I really don't see any point of it. Not a big deal though.Probably not best for climbing/scrambling. These are anyways primarily shoes for water sports.I have my doubts about the durability of the shoes on rocky trails. One of the stitches became already loose after few days of use, and seems to be prone to tearing. The fabric/plastics look good so far.Bottomline: If these shoes costed [$] instead of [$], I would get something else, but for the price it's a good value. They are lighter than Merrells, Keens, and serve the same purpose.
By jjaynes from Arkansas on 09/11/2007 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Mowing, Outdoor Activities Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these for my husband to wear mowing. At first he felt that they were too tight, but then realized that when he got them wet hosing them off they loosened up. He keeps them clean so he can also wear them as casual shoes since they keep his feet cool.
Great lightweight, light duty shoes By ash from Birmingham, AL on 09/11/2007 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: At The Beach, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Alternative, Casual, Conservative Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great shoes so far--lightweight, breathable, and nice looking. However, on the first day, I mistakenly took them for a sockless 3-mile walk and ended up with heel blisters. This is to be expected with most shoes, after you start sweating, but I've never had a problem with sandals. In other words, these won't replace your sandals completely, but they're a great alternative to much heavier, bulkier athletic shoes. I plan to try them in water soon, but even if you don't, they're still a good option in lieu of both sandals and athletic shoes.
