High top trail running shoe By Doc from Wa state. on 04/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe is working out perfectly as a lightweight alternative to my paragliding boots. I liked the pair I ordered so much that I ordered another to stash for the future; they are closeouts so when they're gone they're gone. I'm a bit concerned about upcoming warm weather with the multiple gortex membranes, but so far they are top notch.
First Time w/ TrainRunners By Phil from Heidelberg, Germany on 04/02/2008 Pros: Great Traction, Non-slip sole Best Uses: Trailrunning, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I run up to Konigstuhl (10km uphill: Heidelberg, Germany) and when I use the rocky trail which is frequently wet due to weather here, I need good traction and sticky rubber, which these provide. However I'm not sure of the fit, I've noticed tendency to "toe-trip", not sure if thats because they're longer than I'm used to due to their size (14). Wish I could've gotten a 13-Wide. But I'll probably keep these because I love their traction. Time will tell if my comment about Comfort is really a detractor, maybe I need to get used to them.

By Ryan from Kansas City on 03/24/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased these mainly for daily use during the winter to slog through snow and ice. I put an insole in them to give them a little bit of cushion, which they understandably lacked (The shoe is made to be rugged.) The shoe is advertised as a trail runner. I am a marathoner and do some trail running. Although I don't venture out on any trails that would require a shoe this rugged, I'm sure there has got to be something out there that's more comfortable for trail running in wet conditions. Nonetheless, this shoe is good for day-to-day use in sloppy weather and would be good for light hiking.
By KP from Boulder CO on 03/19/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Stable Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I plan to use this for running and hiking on trails, would even take it on a small backpacking trip. It functions as a trail running sneaker but has some support for the ankles, which make it good for more difficult trails. Nicely made.
