If you can only own one... By south cove kayak from Old Saybrook, CT on 08/29/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Easy to Paddle, Good Maneuverability, Stable Best Uses: Day Trips, Flat Waters, Kayak Camping, Rivers Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great boat. Yes, you would want it with a rudder if possible, but not necessary in many cases. My favorite boat out of 6 that the family owns. Only downside is its heavy but no more so than many other plastic boats. Very durable, quite quick, super easy to entry and exit compared to a typical sea cockpit. Nice seats, holds a good amount for camping. You will not outgrow this boat as a recreational kayak.
Great Kayak, but splurge for the rudder By Mike in TX from West Texas on 05/08/2008 Cons: Difficult to Paddle, Heavy Best Uses: Day Trips, Flat Waters, Kayak Camping Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a heavy kayak that tracks strong, but is nearly impossible to control without a rudder. With a rudder, I imagine that it's an ideal recreational kayak with comfortable seats, durable shell, and surprising speed. Buy the rudder for [$]at [@]if you didn't get it the first time around.
