By Kiwi Girl from New Zealand on 04/11/2009 Cons: Irregular Fit, Stains Easily, Wear Out Quickly Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have purchased Vasque shoes and boots for years for mountain hiking and running. I have enjoyed their exceptional comfort for a narrow heal, wide forefoot fit, excellent Goretex liners, comfort, and durabilty. These boots were the exception. They started to degrade at the toe bumper and forefoot material within 2 months of what I consider normal wear of comparable Vasque boots. The footbox was also narrow compared to similar boots. Unfortunately, I bought a pair of this style for a friend, only to be embarrased by the poor quality and durability. This experience has left me reluctant to purchase Vasque products in the future.
By Montana Sue from Missoula, MT on 04/01/2009 Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been wearing the same pair of Vasque hiking boots for the past 5 years. They finally started to crack along the sole, so I thought that it was time to get a new pair. Unfortunately, it seems that Vasque's just aren't made as well as they use to be. I ordered one pair that started to fall apart after 2 weeks, and the second pair that I ordered only took 2 days. Very disappointing.

lightweight hikers for wet conditions By Skokie mom from Chicago suburb, IL on 10/22/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Outdoor adventure Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These boots are reasonably lightweight, have decent ankle support (I have unstable ankles from running injuries when I was a teen), and are water-proof. They kept my feet dry during several hours of fishing in Alaska in the rain.
The main disappointment is that the toe bumper became scraped and started to peel off after I only wore the boot a few times. I also find that between the Gore-tex and the lining material, my feet tend to get sweaty when it's hot and clammy when its cool, despite wearing good wool hiking socks with them.
By LB from chicago, IL on 05/29/2008 Best Uses: Hiking and walking Describe Yourself: Dress appropriately Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: boots are meant for hiking and walking. I am just in the process of breaking them in.
They don't seam to breath properly.
Good Comfortable light hiker By Running down a dream from Ithaca, NY on 05/19/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Cute, Durable, Stable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: At first site these shoes look like a trail runner with slightly higher sides. I have worn them once, trail running/light hiking to break them in- they were very comfortable and supportive. I did get blisters, but probably from intense running without breaking them in properly. They were a little slippery, didnt grip well to wet, algae rock- as to be expected. Overall a great hiker! And fairly "stylish" for a hiker.
By BC from Fayetteville, TN on 05/16/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Alternative, Casual Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I had to send this product back after trying two sizes. When I put on the shoe, I felt like my toes were bumping into the front of the shoe. This made it feel very uncomfortable so I sent both sizes back to try another brand.
By AJ from DULUTH MN on 04/30/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, HIKING WITH DOGS, Wet Weather Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: THIS IS A GREAT BOOT! I FREQUENTLY WALK MY DOGS ALONG A SWAMPY PATH TO THE RIVER - MY FEET STAYED DRY AND COMFORTABLE! THE LAST BOOTS I HAD FOR CANOEING IN THE BWCAW WERE VASQUE, TOO - BUT THESE ARE EVEN BETTER!
By Hiking Guide from Tucson, AZ on 04/24/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Stable Describe Yourself: Conservative Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't actualy worn this pair yet but this XCR is the style I've been wearing for years. They fit my foot comfortably..and I hike about 750 miles a year. Only downside is that they wear out faster than I think they should.
