By Waiting for Spring from Colorado on 03/09/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Good ankle support, Good for narrower feet, Stable, Warm Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking, Running, Wet Weather Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have used these shoes for the last couple of months climbing/running up and down steep hills. They are sturdy, provide good ankle support, and are comfortable and warm. I only had one problem with my big toes hitting the front when I stupidly wore thinner hiking socks and ran downhill. Wear thick socks and you're good to go! I have not had a problem with toe wear, even when I used YakTraks with them. Overall, I'm glad I bought these shoes and I will buy more Vasques in the future.
By don't like vasque from western new york on 02/06/2008 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Stable, Stain Resistant, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Alternative, Casual Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: They are showing signs of wear on the toe piece and on the sides where they bend while walking and I have only had them for 2 months. I have not worn them for any heavy hiking or climbing, either, just casual. I would think twice before I bought a product from Vasque again.
By Dog Handler from San Jose on 01/05/2008 Best Uses: Casual Wear, Travel, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual, Stylish Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like dry feet when walking my dog in the rain. These shoes do that.
Best hiking shoe I've ever owned By Vonda and the trail dog from Walton, Ky. on 12/27/2007 Pros: Breathes Well, Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Wet Weather Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Gave them their first try in the winter mud and water. Kept my feet dry and loved the comfort.
By Sue from Louisville KY on 12/22/2007 Cons: narrow at base of toes, Uncomfortable Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Overall, a good looking boot, but a little long in the toes, and narrower than I needed. Sadly, had to return.
By Lvappenzeller from St. Louis, MO on 12/22/2007 Best Uses: Hiking, Wet Weather Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe is described as a multi-sport shoe, but it's definitely much more hiking boot than, let's say, trail running shoe. It's a good shoe with a lot of stability, but if you require a shoe with a lot of flexibility (i.e., bendability as you walk), this will take some breaking in I'm afraid. It's very stiff in the midsection (as I said: more of a hiking boot). I have rather serious back issues related to an ankle problem, and hiking in this shoe has aggravated my back because I can't roll my ankle the way I can in a running shoe, but I'm hoping I'll get used to it. I did get a small blister the first few times I wore it, but other than that it's a very comfortable shoe that can take some abuse on wet and muddy trails and it does keep me from twisting my ankles on rough trails.
By Maria the dog walker from East Lyme, CT on 12/17/2007 Cons: Causes Hotspots or Blisters, Too Stiff Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I who love Vasque hiking boots was really disappointed with these shoes. They did not fit like the other Vasque size 8s that I have. I got huge blisters on both pinky toes.
