By Iseult from New York on 12/15/2008 Describe Yourself: Rarely Workout Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased these because the price was right but as with all Columbia shoes, they are too big. They are also very uncomfortable after wearing all day. I haven't worn them since. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Now that I've replaced the footbed... By Diane the mid-life athlete and hiker from Hagerstown, MD on 11/25/2008 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Gym Rat, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I liked the shoe but the arch felt overly pronounced. This was true even though I usually like a good arch support. So, I thought I would remove the footbed (don't most shoes like this have removable footbeds these days?). Once I started, I realized this was not the plan---but I persisted. I replaced them with footbeds from a pair of Chacos. Now, they're exquisitely comfortable---and a good deal for the cost.

By rentasmo from New Hampshire on 11/11/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In Best Uses: Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Decent shoes, they aren't top of the line trail shoes but they're functional. Pretty comfortable out of the box, arches are a bit high but not bad. My feet are a shade wide and these shoes seem fine.
Great Shoes -- Order 1/2 Size Bigger By Electra150 from Pittsburgh, PA on 11/10/2008 Best Uses: All Weather Conditions Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I saw the other reviews that said to order a half-size bigger, but that size wasn't available. I ordered my usual size and they were too small in the toe area. Gave them to a friend, and she loves them!
Color was definitely not as pictured. By Waitron13 from Grand Rapids Michigan on 11/08/2008 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I was disappointed that the color in the catalog was way darker than the actual shoes. I was looking for brown shoes and got grey and lavendar. :( Otherwise the shoe is very comfortable.
