By hossy from washington dc on 03/04/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have worn New Balance for years and these were the first pair I didn't like and had to return. They appear to have had a short shelf life. Must be a bad cut/design.

Excellent quality and value By Dart from Newport NH on 03/02/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seam where tongue is sewn to the upper seems quite large and could cause irritation on the top of the foot.
I haven't really used them yet except to try them around the house, so I don't know for sure if this will be a problem.
Very solid and stable running shoe. By Tim from Fort Worth, Texas on 02/29/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Padding, Versatile Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my second pair of NB1222. This shoe has excellent arch support and good cushioning in the heel and forefoot. It provides very good motion and stability control. It has resolved my shin splints (as did the NB991)! It feels a little wider than the NB1221 (which I slightly preferred over the NB1222). I wear a 10 1/2 dress shoe, but wear a 11 1/2 in running shoes (to have a thumb width at the toe end). I have not tried the new NB1223. The NB1222 is a great shoe overall.

An excellent running shoe for 180# plus By TP from Knoxville TN on 01/04/2008 Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement, Strength Training, Trails Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A great shoe if you are over 180 lbs and have a normal arch. They feel a bit "chilly" when the temperature drops below 30, but a thicker sock or liner helps. Very stable foot control.
