A Good Shoe With Some Quirks By Ally from Michigan's Upper Peninsula on 08/18/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Featherlight, Great Traction, Heel is well cushioned Cons: Narrow toe box, Wide heel pocket Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Biker, Competitive Athlete, Recreational Walker/Hiker, Skier, Traveler Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these shoes for an upcoming trip to Italy. We will be walking and hiking and I need stability and cushioning. The shoes run about a half size larger than most. I wear a 4.5 and the smallest is a 5 which I ordered. Even when inserting a full length orthotic, they are a little long and I can't wear thick socks because of the narrow toe. I wore them on a five mile walk and got a blister on my little toe so for the last few days I have been stretching the toe areas with shoe stretchers. The decorative seams in the toe area are a poor design. With the already narrow toe, they contribute to friction and discomfort. The narrow toe box is offset by a very wide heel pocket so the laces need to be snug on top. If you can get around these 2 poor features, and you have orthotics or don't need good arch support, these shoes might work for you. On a positive note, they are lightweight and well cushioned in the heel. The lugs are well suited to rough terrain so they will do well on rocky trails. Compared to the many pairs of other brands I have ordered in the past, particularly Saucony tennis shoes and other Vasque hiking boots, these have a quirky fit. Hopefully they will break in more or I can get the toes stretched at a shoe repair shop. Do not order them if you need toe room.

Great shoes for hiking, biking or town By Boulder lady from Boulder Colorado on 08/01/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are great all around shoes for hiking, biking or wearing around town. They are comfortable, stable, feather light and attractive. They look like they are not water resistant but look like they might dry easily if wet. The grippy soles might make them work well for days that are dry but snowy. I bought my pair a half size large and they still were a tiny bit snug out of the box but loosened upon my first wearing.

By Frglvr from Effort, PA on 06/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I needed new sneakers and thought these were cool (and the price was great!) But, now I think I may retire my old clunky hiking boots! These are very light, have great ankle support and are really great on rocky terrain. Perfect for everyday or a hiking day!
By Cathie from the Highlands from Issaquah, WA on 05/26/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Lightweight Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A great deal - I can't run anymore but have used this as a comfortable lightweight hiking shoe on gravel/dirt trails and it works even better than my hiking boots as it has great traction. A little thin in the cushioning but overall I am pleased with the purchase. Also a great everyday walking shoe on pavement and a color that doesn't show the dirt.
By casual hiker from WA on 05/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Lightweight, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very comfortable, supportive, good price. I couldn't wear them for a long period of time because I have a low arch. I wouldn't suggest this shoe for anyone with a low arch, otherwise, buy it.
By Hiking Momma from New Carlisle, In on 05/11/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have worn these for everyday use as well as hiking. They required no break-in time, just put them on and go! I prefer a hiking shoe over a boot-even though I give up the added ankle support-I feel these offered great foot support. These are nice looking trail running shoes too.
