By runfarther from Ogden, UT on 04/14/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Comfortable, Good Traction, Stable Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great shoes for technical trails, scree, talus, gravel, steep, etc! Tough and well made, last quite awhile, even when wearing every day for trail runs
By DDJ from Royal Oak on 04/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Flexible, Good Traction, Lightweight Cons: Oddly tight at baby toe, Uncomfortable Best Uses: Pavement, Trails Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are almost really great, but after half hour or so, the baby toes get rubbed - the shoe seems too narrow and/or there is something in the stitching that causes a problem. So, I use very heavy hiking socks which is going to make them too hot in the summer. Vasques never seem to fit my feet.
This is my 2nd pair and I love them By T the nurse from Tennessee on 04/03/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Breathable, Comfortable, Flexible, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: great on concrete floors, had less knee and back pain with these shoes
By Sandi from NY, NY on 03/21/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Breathable, Comfortable, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are the only hiking shoes that I don't need any "work them in" time. They were totally comfortable the second I put them on. I mainly use them for long NYC walks. The soles wear out fast but it is because it is on pavement. They are light weight and I can walk comfortably in them for 8+ miles without blistering.
By Melissaaz from Scottsdale az on 03/02/2009 Pros: Absorbs Shock, Breathable, Comfortable, Flexible, Good Traction, Lightweight, Stable Best Uses: Pavement, Trails Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a trail runner/hiker and these shoes are pretty good at almost all types of trails. They work best for packed dirt or large boulder hiking and running. They have a lot of cushion which is good and bad, if you hike on small rocks you sometimes can feel them under your forefoot. Plus, I overpronate and these shoes give more stability than regular running shoes but of course not as much support as mids. Great traction. Very breathable. Would recommend.
By april from Cali on 12/30/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i bought these shoes for my 10 year old daughter. its her first 'womens' shoe since she is now in a size 5. her foot is really narrow so this shoe works GREAT!!! most the women shoes she tried on were way to wide for her foot. she LOVES them! the pink is a great color!!!!!
By Whiteback from SC on 08/03/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are great for casual wear as well as for hiking rugged trails. They are roomy in the toebox and fit very comfortably. Although made of all synthetic leather, an older pair I have has held up well. The tops are a tight mesh-like weave, so they are not water resistant. The pink color draws a lot of attention and favorable comments!!
By Pixie from Auburndale, FL on 05/09/2008 Pros: Awesome color, Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Non-slip sole, Stable Cons: A little short, Narrow in the forefoot, Not Water Resistant, Wide in the heel Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Received lots of compliments on the awesome pink color, which is why I bought them. But they are a strange fit. I found these shoes doing a search for Vasque because I have two of the same pair of Vasque hiking boots which I love. I thought the fit would be the same but it's not. These are a little short, even for my size 5 Narrow feet. And while they feel a little narrow in the forefoot, they still slip in the heel. Despite the less-than-perfect fit, I'm keeping them because: 1) I love the color; 2) I know my feet will adjust to them or they will adjust to my feet; and 3) Hate to pay return shipping.
By Vi. from Washington State on 04/12/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable Best Uses: Everyday, Half marathon Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I run almost every day and these are the shoes I wear. I trained for my first half marathon last year by running on trails and pavement. A few weeks before the race I bought a second pair and used them during the race.
With a good insert, this is a great all around running shoe. Its good for trails (even muddy ones) and works well on cement too. The price is right. And yes I love the cool green color. But now that my size is gone in those, I've switched to the pink ones. They are flashy and fun as well.
