By Crystal from Winnipeg, Canada on 07/28/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding, Retro look very swish Best Uses: Pavement, Trails Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a wide foot and normally wear the GTS model. Bought the Trance model due to lack of inventory on the GTS. All I can say is wow! These are an awesome fitting and feeling shoe, mould to my foot, control my over-pronating well and make outdoor running a pleasure...I run 3-4 miles a day/ 3-4x per week and I LOVE my new Trance shoes...PS: I was worried about the look of these, but really like them up close - they look retro. I got several compliments at the gym...Brooks does it again!!
By Middle-aged fitness enthusiast from Menlo Park, CA on 07/22/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Padding Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Hoped these would offer some lateral support for kickboxing, etc., but alas, no go. They're fine for long walks and jogs. I had originally ordered a size 10 (I wear a size 9 dress shoe, but wear ultra-thick socks when working out), but the 10s were HUGE. Re-ordered a 9.5, which seemed a tad smaller than that, so I would have to say the sizing is a bit unstable too.
best shoe I have ever had. By Tresor from Sierra Madre, CA on 07/21/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Padding Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've owned five or six pairs of shoes from the Brooks Trance series -- they are my all time favorites for comfort. I have bunions, and these shoes allow pain free running. Not too great on style, but that's not what I buy them for.
By metphd from Cocoa, FL on 07/20/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes are great. I am training for a marathon and was able to go 12 miles in them the first weekend I got them. They give me blisters, but less than most shoes. All shoes (at least that I have tried) give me blisters in this Florida heat. Otherwise, extremely comfortable and cushioning. I highly recommend them.

Not as good for me as the Trance 5 By Cara from Flemington, NJ on 07/10/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Padding Cons: Causes Blisters, Shape not the same - boxy, Way too deep need fill Best Uses: Endurance Training Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Style/shape of shoe is totally different from the Trance 5 which I LOVED and was perfect for my feet. I had a very difficult time finding the perfect shoe and now it's changed. Now it's softer, which is great however it's boxy. Shape doesn't feel as comfortable/supportive and is so deep I have to use three insoles so that my foot isn't so deep into the shoe. Very disappointed in this change in style.
By PSH from Melbourne Australia on 07/08/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding Best Uses: Endurance Training Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm training for a marathon and these shoes are the best as I don't have to "break" into them. Can start long runs straight away.
By 25-30 miles a week runner from atlanta, ga on 07/07/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Padding, Versatile Best Uses: Endurance Training, Pavement Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Best stability for the weight. I overpronate and have flat feet. I wear a corrective insert, and I actually use this shoe instead of a motion control shoe because it is lighter and still provides a corrective ride. this is my fourth pair.
By Katie from Greenville, SC on 07/05/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Padding, Versatile Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Because I need lots of cushioning and support in a running shoe, this is probably, for me, a better shoe for speed walking. But I really like it. A great fit.
