By Karen from DuBois,PA on 03/19/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: They appear to be sized for man, not a woman. I am sending them back.
Half size too big and too wide By shoeaddict from scranton, ps on 03/18/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I really really wanted these shoes and when I got them and tried them on...I was soooo disapointed, they were too big and way too wide, and I had thick wool socks on.
Looks great, doesn't fit well By Landscaper from Wilmington, NC on 03/16/2009 Cons: Digs into achilles tendon, Not Comfortable Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have to return the shoe because the part of the shoe above the heel comes up too high and digs into my achilles tendon. Also, I always wear a size 10 in 95% of the women's shoe brands and this shoe is over an inch too long - as a size 10.
On the plus side, I love the look of the shoe. It is a very attractive shoe and has nice details. Sierra Trading Post Responded on 03/16/2009
Thank you for your review. After having this fit, we have determined that it runs one size small. Thanks again.

These shoes felt great from the minute I put them on. Very supportive.
By emw from Homer Alaska on 03/04/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Lenght is acurate, but heavy sock needed as they are wide
By Geopharm from Colorado on 03/03/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Dries Quickly, Great Traction Best Uses: At The Gym, Everyday, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have already sent the shoes back once because the sizing was off and the next size down is still too large. It may be a whole size off not just a half. I am not sure if I can send them back again since I have used them once.
Sole very stiff, no give to the heel. By Wooker from Flagstaff AZ on 02/28/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable Cons: Not Comfortable, Not flexible, Poor Cushioning Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: After two miles of hiking on pavement started getting blisters from the hard, unyielding outer sole and heel.
I love Asolo shoes and boots! By Happy Hiker from Colorado Springs, CO on 02/23/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Great Incline shoes, Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I took others' advice and ordered 1/2 size smaller than usual - perfect! I love the color and the stability of these trail shoes, and the price was right. These are perfect shoes for the Incline, at the base of Pikes Peak. You gain about 2,000 feet in one mile! Great workout...whew!
Asolo quality; true 1/2 too large By Debi the Backpacker from San Diego, CA on 02/10/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: OK, lots of comments here regarding sizing.
Here's the deal: first & foremost, these are light HIKING shoes, not cutesy around-town kicks (God, I hate it when I hear functional outdoor gear described as "cute"!) All which means, you are supposed to take out the cheap insoles and replace them with the boot insoles of your choice (Superfeet, Sole, etc.)
Next, they're meant to be worn with a proper padded hiking sock, and possibly a thin liner sock, depending on terrain and if you're prone to blisters.
Having said (and done) all that I still returned the size 11's for 10 1/2. I wear Asolo Powermatic backpacking boots in an 11 (EU 43 2/3) and the Superfeet insoles I use in those fit perfectly in the 10 1/2. I also noticed that the heel is wider on these shoes than in my boots, as is the forefoot.
All in all, this is a great shoe for it's intended purpose - light hiking on smooth to moderate terrain carrying a light pack. The build is typical great Asolo quality, but I really do think that their Chinese vendor screwed up with this production run and built these shoes on a men's last. That's OK, just size down accordingly, put in your after market insoles and you will have a good light hiker at a great price!
Good product - would buy again By dog walker from Texas on 12/16/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Everyday, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Use every day walking the dog. I have high arches and these shoes help my feet feel good.
