By lalulalila from Cambridge, MA on 10/28/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Cons: Not Water Resistant, Poor Cushioning Best Uses: At The Gym, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker, Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i wear these everyday now to walk to class on the trecherous brick sidewalks of cambridge. they grip very well, support my feel on long days, and are an exciting color combo, which gets lots of curious looks from the passerby but which absolutely delights me! definitely get a WHOLE size larger, as i am usually an 37 (euro), and i got a 38 based on other reviews and they fit perfectly, however i wouldn't do much running in them even now, as my toes need a bit more space at the front for that high impact activity.
By chacogabi from west chester, pennsylvania on 10/15/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, At The Gym, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete, Recreational Walker/Hiker, Trail Jogger Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: a little too narrow in the front but nice shoes!
Comfortable but too small By Scout from Culver City, CA on 10/05/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Durable Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered a size 6.5 which I've always worn for athletic shoes but these shoes were much smaller than true to size. My toes were jammed, making it uncomfortable to even walk. I would've exchanged it for the next size but they didn't have it in stock.
Great Traction for the Trail By Adagio from nashville on 10/04/2009 Best Uses: Grass, Mixed Terrain, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Gym Rat, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Even though these are trail runners I bought them for inside use. They do have a lot of traction, probably great for outside use...a little sticky for indoor use. But, they are comfortable and bright ( I bought the purple/yellow combo).
By ACWilson from Dallas, TX on 09/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just needed some new casual shoes for wearing around town, and STP had a great deal on these, so I thought I'd give them a try. They do run small. I normally wear a 6, in running shoes a 6.5. I bought the 6.5, but if I was intending to run in these I would have to get a bigger size. I have a very narrow foot, and the width on these feels about right.
They have a flat sole, which provides lots of traction in wet conditions. The shoe is very flexible and light weight.
They have a special lacing system, which required spending 30 minutes to lace these babies up.
All in all I'm happy with this purchase.
SUPER light running shoes!!! By Curleygirl88 from Orange,CA on 07/12/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Feminine, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot, Super light Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, At The Gym, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Just started jogging, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I researched FOREVER trying to find a comfortable, light shoe to go jogging in but at the same time I wanted it to look "feminine". I came across the la sportiva slingshot shoe and judging by how sold out it was at just about every website I knew it must be good! So I read the reviews and I ordered a half size up because apparently they run small. I received the shoe and it fit PERFECTLY and they were beautiful. For some reason I thought they would be laceless? but they're not which is fine. I was SO excited to start running but then I got really sick so I can't tell you how well they are with keeping your feet cool and all that. However they definitely ARE "sticky" so they would be great for outside. [...] Images shared by: Curleygirl88
By Loves to buy shoes from Virginia on 07/06/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Great Traction Best Uses: All Weather Conditions Describe Yourself: Gym Rat Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this shoe mostly because it came in my school colors. It is comfortable, but if the tongue slides to the side even the smallest amount, the edge of the tongue pops out. The back of the heel is so stiff, it rubs the Achilles tendon. Hopefully that will soften up as the shoes get broken in. Definitely buy a half size up!
Great shoe - just not for my foot By Longdistance shopper from Lincoln Nebraska on 06/06/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Great Traction, Stabilizes Foot Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Liked everything about this shoe but didn't keep it because there was a spot inside the right shoe that that rubbed my foot just exactly wrong (on a vein). Left shoe was great and I was sorry to have to return them and try again.
By Jeanre from Chicago, IL on 06/05/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've only had these shoes for about a week, so I can't comment on how durable or waterproof they are. So far I like them very much!
By Eva, an avid walker from Sedalia, CO on 06/01/2009 Cons: Not Comfortable, Poor Cushioning Describe Yourself: Gym Rat, Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: [...]t these shoes are just awful. I am a perfect shoe size 7, so I first ordered a size 7--too small and it hurt to walk in them. I gave the first pair to my daughter and ordered a size 7.5. This pair also doesn't fit--still a little small in the toes and way too large in the back. What a disappointment. I am an avid walker and wanted good light walking shoes. Again, I love Sierra Trading Post, good service, excellent price, but no more Sportiva.
