i run fast on very rocky, often wet terrain, and these shoes supply the support i need, but not a hair more. the sole grips steep wet granite like a charm, i have no fears of losing traction. my feet feel in touch with the trail, this shoe is sensitive and nimble, oh finally a shoe that supports the intelligence and sensing abilities of my feet, without swaddling them in overdone cushioning and stabilizing materials!
By Catalina from Charlotte NC on 05/04/2009 Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: it's a comfortable shoe, however, it was so ugly I couldn't keep them, if that is not important for you then you're fine. [...]

European sizing -- always a bit tricky! By AvidRunner from New York, NY on 04/10/2009 Pros: Purple and yellow color Cons: Not stabilizing enough Best Uses: Mixed Terrain, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Competitive Athlete Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: At first I ordered a size 40 (supposed to be 8.5). But it felt too tight, so I went to 41 (after looking at my other European sized shoes, cross country spikes, which were 40.5 and 41). The shoe is narrow so didn't feel too big until I was doing steep, narrow, rocky and leafy downhills when I felt my foot move too much in the shoe and felt unstable -- not much support. Perhaps a 40.5 would have been best but I didn't feel like trying a third time still feeling uncertain . . . I do prefer a wider toe box but I was so taken with the color, and the price!

By Missy the adventure seeker from Seal Rock, OR on 03/12/2009 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought that the shoe was breathable with little arch suport. Other than that great traction for trails, or just walking the mall, or work. GET THE PURPLE AND YELLOW>>> they make you go faster!

Good support, lightweight, comfortable, nice toe room. Great w/jeans. First pair I received had a defective insole, but of course, Sierra Trading Post exchanged no problems. Also, my feet don't get too hot wearing them.
