By Disappointed hiker from Virginia on 05/20/2009 Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This shoe has a small but pain-causing defect in the attachment of one of the tongues. I wore it for an hour inside and had not only pain but a red mark. The company probably cannot exercise quality control of every potential problem but I think they should refund all postage for defects. To my mind, a sewing lump that makes a shoe painful is no less a fatal defect than a sweater with three sleeves.
By Cathy from Ventura, CA on 05/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are comfortable and seem well made. I did not have to break them in. They are flexible enough for my taste, and I will get a lot of use out of them. I'm ok with the color, although I would prefer something a bit darker.

And the Gortex really works!! Just a great hiking shoe, very comfotable. I had to get a half size smaller than usual but otherwise it's perfect.

Great Shoes for outdoor women By KIKA from Monroe, Ct. on 03/09/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Breathable, Comfortable/No Break-In, Dries Quickly, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: They are great, comfortable, stylish, and great for hiking. Even I wasn't sure about the colors because I don't wear brown tones, the ones that I received are just two colors (grey/light blue). I'm so happy because I like the colors. They are the same shoes, the only different is that my's does't have the front band, but I think they look much better. I ordered the size as they suggested and they are perfect.
Comfortable, sturdy and supportive shoes By thejennybug from McLean, VA on 11/23/2008 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Recreational Walker/Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these shoes for doing outdoor research on rainy days in the mud. I found them to be super comfy and require no break-in. I haven't tested them in dounpours or in shallow streams but in light rain they were waterproof. Be ware of sizes! They are in UK sizing! I had to order two pairs to find the right fit for me. They are not as nice looking as I was hoping - they stand out in jeans or casual wear due to the light blue sides more than my old, sturdy all brown leather hikers do but for the price they are good.
I didn't even have to break these in! By Loulabelle from Tampa, FL on 08/04/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These shoes were comfy right out of the box- no break in time necessary. I ordered my regular size and they are plenty big with light/mid-weight wool socks. Not sure about the waterproof qualities yet- will test them out in Oregon later this month.
