By sdizzle from Minneapolis, MN on 07/30/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got these to do some hiking on a recent vacation to New Zealand, they were comfortable and stable in the wet brush. I ordered a size down as recommended and they still felt a little big, but not sure if another half size down would have been too small.
By The Woman Who Runs from Durango, CO on 07/15/2008 Pros: Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Goretex XCR is great stuff; water genuinely does not get in yet the shoes are not unduly hot. These shoes are fairly stiff. They are protective and stable for hiking on talus or scree, but I wouldn't have minded a little more cushioning. The web site said they ran a half size large so I ordered a half size smaller than I normally wear and they fit.
Sizing not as recommended By Inky from Nashville,TN on 07/08/2008 Best Uses: Day hikes, Everyday, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: When I received this shoe in a short period of time I was very happy. On putting it on I found that the toe box was too narrow - the next size up would have been better - I followed the instructions (order size smaller as these shoes run large) My normal size would have been best.[...]
solid, lightweight hikers By sandshell from Nantucket on 06/29/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are a bit sturdier than sneaker-like hikers, so your feet feel well-protected. I have yet to use them on a serious hike, but they were quite comfortable on a short hike with my dog, in the sand and along the trails. Dry feet make a happy camper.
Different, but still good By KayKanu from Boulder CO on 06/18/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Casual travel, Everyday, Hike in moderate terrain Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these because a previous pair of Raichle shoes that I bought, although they initially seemed heavy and stiff, proved very supportive of a "trick foot" I have developed via several sprains and tendon strains. (I have a weak spot on the outside near the small toe that needs extra support) These shoes are not as stiff and heavy, and are not as high for ankle support, but so far they seem good at controling side-to-side roll, which is a big factor in protecting my foot. I am very happy with these so far - in fact, out of the box they are more comfortable than my previous pair, which I grew to love. (PS I am usually a US 8.5 and take a 7.5 in these)

It fit my hard-to-fit feet well and is extremely comfortable. I needed a lightweight waterproof shoe for day hikes and this worked out great.
