My favorite climbing shoe By 52 and still going strong from BC, Canada on 11/07/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These are the best shoe I have found so far. I mostly sport climb...anything from over-hangs to small edgey routes. Make sure you order bigger, they fit quite tight for the size.

By Matt Marino from Colorado Springs on 08/09/2008 Best Uses: Sport climbs smearing Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: 53 yrs old, climbing since teen yrs, I like lace ups, much more adjustable. Excellent stickiness and seems durable. Sizes do run small, but I wear my climbing shoes very tight. We are climbing sport routes on sandstone and granite, mostly 5.9 to 5.11's. Good allaround shoe.
By adefazi2 from Gainesville Fl on 07/23/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Versatile Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The heel on this shoe is horrible!! It digs in to your tendon big time and your heel doesn't even get to the bottom of this shoe. I have heard many guys that swear by these but for the ladies I don't recommend theses shoes.
By Cabernet from Braintree, MA on 07/15/2008 Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm just getting into climbing and am purchasing my first pair of shoes. Unfortunately, these shoes don't fit, so I can't say much about how they fuction because I'm returning them. But I'll mention sizing, because this is what I was trying to find when I was ordering.
I wear a size 8.5-9 (usually 39 European) in women's street shoes. I ordered a size 8.5 (41.5) in the Anasazi, but they're too small (painfully) - mostly in the big toe area. I think a 42, maybe 42.5, would fit me best. I have thick ankles and the heel also comes up a bit higher than I think I'd like, even if I did fit. For comparison, I also ordered a 39.5 in the Scarpa Tifosi, which was whole size too small and a 39 in the Scarpa Marathon, which was 1/2 to a whole size too small. However, a Montrail Splitter 40 (womens) fit perfectly - hopefully it won't stretch out too much.
I do love that these shoes are made in USA.
By Katy Climber from Falls Village. CT on 06/29/2008 Cons: Heel elastic is too tight, Not Adjustable Describe Yourself: Getting Started Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I tried these shoes in numerous different sizes. They were all too short (even shoes two sizes larger than my usual size) due to the incredibly tight heel elastic.
By Old Butterfield from Reston, VA on 05/31/2008 Cons: So so for heel hooking Best Uses: Edging, Long Climbs, Outdoor, Sport climbing Describe Yourself: Competitive Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Terrific shoe especially for the price. Great on vertical and overhanging terrain. Only con is the extra space in the heel that makes heel hooking a bit of a pain.
By Kyle from Austin TX on 04/25/2008 Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I sized these as I do all 5.10 shoes, to my street size, as I've never found that I've needed to downsize, even in their performance shoes. I like these alot, when sized as I have them, their very precise and good for all types of climbing: slab, face, overhangs, cracks. There comfortable enough that I can leave them on while setting in the gym, but not a shoe I could leave on all day. I only have two concerns, one is the age old problem of the baggy heel, which I've found often just feels bad, it works alright, not as bad as it feels, but its not the best in the world no doubt, but then again, when you get them at such a discount I'm not complaining, you can go spend twice the amount on the new model if the heel worries you so much. The other concern is the fact that they are synthetic and not leather, which means that while they perform good in cracks, they're not going to stand up to that abuse for a long time, but oh well, I have my dedicated crack shoes. Their a great all-arounder for someone with good technique, easily transition from slabs to roofs. From V7 to 5.12s, the shoes haven't been a limiting factor yet.
Good all around climbing shoe By Outdoor girl from Bay Area, CA on 04/25/2008 Pros: Fit, Sticky rubber, Versatile Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good all around shoe - stiff enough for edges. Probably not the most sensitive shoe out there -
The heel is a little weird - almost as if it would be perfect for a less stiff sole - as the sole is a little on the stiff side, the heel doesn't seem to work as it should.
Also - I had to order up a whole size in this shoe. I know climbing shoes are supposed to be snug - even with the whole size up, my toes are curled to barely tolerance at the end of them. I couldn't even get my feet in my regular size.
Good value for the price -
I've bought this shoe MORE THAN ONCE! By Nicky tha Pebble Wrestler from Olympia, Washington on 04/01/2008 Pros: Adjustable, Stylin, Time-Tested, Versatile Cons: Heel not most desirable Best Uses: Bouldering, Indoor, Long Climbs, Outdoor, Sport climbing Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: With this late version of the anasazi lace up, the heel is the downside of the shoe; the sizing/width aren't to any extreme. Given price:quality:performance ratio of this shoe you cannot be beat it! This pick comes highly recommended.
