By Sunny in California, not too shady..... from Fort Irwin, CA on 09/06/2009 Cons: Breaks/Tears Easily, Not Enough Coverage Describe Yourself: Midrange Shopper Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Loved the new umbrella at first....then the first big wind came up and it snapped in half! Not good. Other than that, it is a nice product.
Metal brackets broke during assembly! By Scott from Ventura, CA on 06/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Budget Shopper Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice size, and great color combination, but it broke as I was putting it together. The metal brackets that connect the two poles disintegrated in TWO places. So, this product lasted about 5 minutes.
By JMD from Maryland on 05/20/2009 Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Similar to some of the other reviews, the one I received wasn't even broken, it was just never manufactured correctly. The pole wasn't even attached to the umbrella. Even if it wasn't defective, it's the cheapest umbrella I have seen and probably wouldn't work for more than a minute on a windy beach. This is just my opinion based on my experience.
It's worth the clearance price By CO951 from Littleton, CO on 11/20/2008 Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight Best Uses: Light Sprinkles, Portable Precaution, Sun Shade Describe Yourself: Budget Shopper Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's worth the clearance price, but I wouldn't have paid more for it. It is light weight, which is nice, but it looks like it wouldn't take moderately strong winds.
By williams from maryland on 08/01/2008 Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: nice umbrella, but pole is typical 'beach' umbrella thin, not large enough in circumference to properly fit a deck/porch/patio table
Twice received damaged item By KT from Boston on 06/12/2008 Pros: Compact Design, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I was so disappointed. The umbrella arrived with the pole snapped into two pieces. I returned it and ordered a replacement, which arrived with the very same problem (snapped in half), but with some loose broken metal bits to add to the sorry state of the item. I expect UPS shipping, or maybe just inadequate STP packaging, was the problem, as the box looked bad each time. But if the umbrella snaps like this, I can't imagine it would bear up to much normal use.
