By Jesus Quintana from Wasatch on 01/19/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy to Put On, Good Quality, Self balancing Best Uses: Harsh Weather, Large Dogs, Outdoors Describe Yourself: Dog Trainer, Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Idiot proof and so simply designed, the dog can almost don it himself... two sets of buckles and it's quite obvious what goes where. Can't remember the capacity or the weight but it seems quite durable and the Large is plenty big for my purposes. I disliked always having to use a huge pack to backpack with when I had smaller, ultra light alternatives. It's rare that I get out without my dog, so I always carried a pad and insulation (typically a puffy jkt) for him, that increased the bulk of my pack. You have enough space for probably 8 lbs of dry food in one side and room for top insulation in the other. For ground insulation/padding, I cut down a Z-rest pad for my torso and my 80lb dog can curl up on the remainder. There's plenty of space to lash that to the top, running lengthwise. I should've bought this much sooner. Out of several dog packs that I considered, this is the simplest and fit my needs the best. Another plus is it retains it's balance and shape even when partially filled. It doesn't look ridiculous like some others, that appear that you're using your dog as a pack animal on an expedition.

German Shepherd/Husky Medium fits Great By Hyper Dog from Allen, TX on 12/06/2008 Pros: Easy to Put On, Good Quality, Studly Best Uses: Harsh Weather, Outdoors Describe Yourself: Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Our BIG puppy has too much energy. We put 2.5 lbs on each side and take her for a walk. It keeps her from pulling, burns more of her energy and makes her stronger.
By The Hiker from Goshen, IN on 11/25/2008 Pros: Fun, Good Quality, Sophisticated Look Cons: Only 2 Pockets, Shifts A Little Best Uses: All Weather, Large Dogs, Outdoors Describe Yourself: Hiker, Single Dog Owner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seems like it is a comfortable fit for him. He didn't try to bite at it like most other extras that we put on him. I would easily buy this same product again. I do wish that there were a few directions. I figured everything out, but it would have been nice to have a reference sheet with maximum load size and basic instructions. Overall, I feel that this is top notch.
By Will, Police Officer from Edgewood, MD on 11/17/2008 Pros: Cute, Easy to Put On, Fun Describe Yourself: Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I own an 11 month old male Akita who loves to pull against his leesh whenever I walk him. I tried numerous things to break him of this but to no avail. After purchasing the backpack, and trying it out with weight, I noticed a huge difference after only one use. I wish I would have thought of the before
By Mike from Portland Oregon on 11/08/2008 Pros: Easy to Put On, Good Quality Describe Yourself: Single Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Use it for all the dog park toys: balls, scoop sacks, tug rope etc. That way he carries his own supplies. Gradually working up to more weight with water bottles and food. Very happy with it so far.
High Quality, Lightweight Winner!!!! By Belle from EAst TN on 11/07/2008 Pros: Easy to Put On, Fun, Good Quality, Well designed Best Uses: Large Dogs, Outdoors, Travel Describe Yourself: Breeder, Multiple Dog Owner Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack is great! It fits my 172 lb. Irish Wolfhound nicely. Plan on a few trial & error trys for the best position and fit on your dog. Remember to put the pack more forward towards the head than in the middle of the back. My dog loves the pack (we have not put anything in the pack as yet) and it has slowed him down on our neighborhood walks.
