The material is great, and there are no zippers or covers, so you just throw the whole thing into the laundry when it gets smelly. I do not use this as a dog bed (for that I recommend the Kimlor round dog bed, also at Sierra Trading Post) because it is only about 2 inches thick, but it makes a great crate pad. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there are tags attached to both ends of the pad. One end has the care instructions and the other a seemingly useless fabric loop. This is a problem for me because it took my puppy about 30 seconds to chew a big hole into one end in an effort to destroy the tag! Now I have to sew it shut before I can wash it. It still serves the purpose I got it for, though, and the price was right.

He approves. These beds are rather small! I would not use for a dog larger than approx. 20 pounds for the Medium size.
The feel is"cushy", but not substantial or thick.
