I wanted a watch that was easy to see in the dark and had a second time zone indicator. This Luminox fills the bill exactly. The instructions are minimal and mine was shipped witha dead battery.

Reliability/quality uncertain. I bought #1 which had a defective case: leaked water after a matter of a few weeks when only exposure was a brief rinse after running. sent it back for a return cuz I do like the watch. #2 just arrived. will see how it goes. the navy seals would be very unhappy with #1.bottom line: uncertain.[...]

Made for Navy Seals???
By MSP from Oregon on 08/06/2009
Cons:
Difficult To Use, Unreliable
Best Uses:
Everyday
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
If Luminox are made for Navy Seals then this watch would fail them. I went into a 3ft play pool with my son and I got water in the watch rated at 100 meters! Plus all (yes, all) of the black numbers on the bezel have lost the black paint. I bought this watch about a year ago and it has never kept very good time. Save your money and good luck to any Navy Seals buying this watch.

By PhilVerified Reviewer from New Jersey on 06/23/2009
Pros:
Adjustable Watchband, Good Quality, Looks Nice, Stylish
Cons:
Battery dead
Describe Yourself:
High End Shopper, Pilot, Practical, Stylish
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
The battery was DOA on the first watch I ordered, then the replacement watch arrived, and that battery was dead as well! I gave up and went with a Casio Wave-Ceptor WVA-M240DE-1BVER, as it meets my occupational needs.

Good value. Nice looking. Accurate
By Tim the rower from San Jose, CA on 06/14/2009
Pros:
Easy to read, Extra features, Good Quality, Reliable, Stylish
Best Uses:
Everyday
Describe Yourself:
Athletic, Classic, Practical
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I have observed the same problem in other Luminox watches: their second hands don't line up with the indices in parts of the dial. It's not a major problem--just noticeable to sticklers like some of us. But the price is an excellent value, especially when compared to other tritium-vial watches. Handsome looks, sturdy case and incredible readability in low- or no-light conditions. The 24-hour hand is a nice extra feature. There are double tritium indicators at 12 o'clock which makes it even easier to read. So far, after a few weeks, the timekeeping is top notch: less than a second fast.
