Sturdy orthotic with arch adjustment By BF from Pleasanton, CA on 12/25/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easily trimmed to size, Sturdy construction Best Uses: Athletics distance runs, Casual Wear Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I replaced inserts in both New Balance and Durham casual shoes and appreciated the instant upgrade in comfort. Nice shock absorption in the heel.Trims cleanly with no frays. Have not overworked them to see if arch adjustment discs remain in place but so far I like them. Way cheaper than [...] orange and green orthotics and to date just as effective.
Caused Blisters On Long Runs By Blistered Runner from Raleigh, NC on 12/24/2008 Cons: Causes Hotspots or Blisters, Uncomfortable Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: After mile four of eight, I developed a large blister on my right arch. I did not have a blister on my left arch. I checked numerous times and could not feel or see a difference between the left and right insole. They are a little wide, so they come up higher in side the shoe. I have been running for 20+ years and never had a blister on my arch before, so I am sure it is something to do with the insoles.

By mom from durango, co on 07/27/2008 Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: We put these arches in my son's shoes because he was having knee pain (enough to warrant a visit to the pediatrician). He wears these supports in his everyday shoes. Not only does he not have knee pain now, but his neck quit cracking too!
The Adjustable System Works By Flying Flat Foot from San Francisco Bay Area on 07/27/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Interchange well Cons: Lack of cushion, Velcro Adhesive Defect Best Uses: Casual Wear, Formal Events Describe Yourself: Casual, Flat Footed Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been essentially flat-footed and suffered various forms of chronic foot pain all my life. I have tried most types of insoles with limited levels of relief, and now I have tried the Shock Doc adjustables and these work well. The ability to adjust the firmness of the arch is a big plus. Since the soles of all shoes vary in terms of arch level, amount of cushioning, etc, you generally can't use the same insole for all shoes. I've been using several pairs of these for four months now and changing out the arch pads depending on the shoes I put them in. It took some trial and error work, but now I have a decent system where I use a specific arch pad for a specific shoe. The velcro has come unglued from the insole in a couple of places due to repetive changing of the arch pads (but can be put back in place). They could also use more padding in the ball-of-the-foot area. Those are the only negatives.
