By Trenton Fly Fisher from Trenton, NJ on 10/13/2009 Pros: Breathable, Tough Material Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The Cloudveil waders are beautifully designed. I worried about two things when I ordered them. First, would the lightweight design be tough enough to stand up to brambles that can shred breathable waders. While I don't have a definitive answer yet (I try to avoid brambles when I can), they do have a heavier material from the knee down that looks like it can hold up pretty well. Second, my foot is a large size 13, and often buy size 14 shoes. I worried that the 11-13 booties on the XLK would be too small. However, they fit perfectly.
The upper fabric is extremely breathable. I fished a wild trout stream which involved lots of scrambling over boulders and climbing up pool to pool. It was a warmish October day, yet I didn't feel sweaty or clammy at all. The gusseted crotch gives incredible freedom of movement. The gravel guard is well designed, long enough, and flexible. It stayed securely attached to my boot laces all day.
Frankly, it almost seemed like I wasn't wearing waders at all.
The waders do seem substantially lighter than any other pair I've ever owned. Since I'm often hopping an airplane when I need chest waders (locally it's wet wading or waist highs), I appreciate this feature.
Of course, the acid test of any pair of waders is how long they hold up. I don't know this yet, though the waders certainly LOOK like they're well made.

By mdfisher from maryland on 01/26/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I took these out for their first trip on Saturday and they were wonderful. They moved well while hiking and crouching. My legs were completely dry after the afternoon fishing session. They look well built with well sealed seams. I also really like that the material above the waist is a little lighter and very flexible for a more comfortable fit.

The attached wading belt is a plus. No forgeting it, and it's always in the best position. The gravel cuffs are an improvement. Money was tight, but at this price a bargain I couldn't pass up. Can't wait to get out and put them through their paces.

By Steelie from Oregon Willamette Valley on 01/05/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable comfortable, Easy To Take On And Off, Tough Material Best Uses: Boating, Cold Water, Fly Fishing, Freshwater Fishing, Riverbank fishing, Summertime, Wintertime Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a river bank rat who likes to hike into the most obscure places, up and down steep terrain and these waders give me the flexibility to hike and travel up and down the banks and through the rivers to reach spots the average fisherman doesn't care be seen in. This is why I catch more fish. These waders allow me to reach near impossible areas. I don't sweat as much in them because of their breathability and they hug my body perfectly for flexibility. I love the anatomical feet and knees and the gusseted crotch is paradise.
By Bip from Colorado on 01/04/2009 Pros: Breathable, Easy To Take On And Off Best Uses: Cold Water, Fly Fishing, Freshwater Fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seem to be a good fit. Have not been able to get them on the water yet with the holidays and all. Look forward to using them soon. Water temp will be in the low 30's so it will be a good test.
