Perfect helmet for avid cyclist By Peter D from Boston, MA on 04/22/2009 Pros: Convenient back-of-head adjustment, Good ventilation, Lightweight, Nice fit system/pads Best Uses: Everyday riding, Road cycling, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: From the first moment you get this, when you take this out of the box and try it on, this helmet looks and feels like the premium product it is.
It's light, incredibly sturdy, the 29 vents prvodie plenty of ventilation, and it has an incredbily comfortable, removable, washable liner. I am guessing that as we move into warmer months with temps consistenly above 75/80 the helmet will feel a little bit hotter on my head (not more than it should, but maybe more than some competitors).
It sits great on your head and the adjustment mechanism is easy to use. On long rides I often adjust the helmet with 1 hand without any problem at all.
Even the strap has an extra feature, a little sweat-absorbing band that fits right under your chin.
Truly, a 1-st class product.

Great helmet w/extra liner By Dr H from Modesto CA on 04/19/2009 Pros: Convenient back-of-head adjustment, Durable, Good ventilation, Lightweight, Nice fit system/pads Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my second Squalo; my first is an older model (2007?). It's a great helmet -- very light and comfortable with good ventilation. The newer model adds LAS logos to the chin straps and inside the liner, includes an odd (but removable) chin pad, and comes with a spare liner (which is a nice touch -- I've never seen a liner for sale here, in Europe, or on the LAS web site).
This helmet seems to fit best on heads that are slightly oval, as opposed to round. If you prefer Giro or Bell, it may not work for you. But if Specialized helmets fit you, this one may work.
Great helmet for the price By bikesnrovers from Wisconsin on 04/19/2009 Pros: Convenient back-of-head adjustment, Good ventilation, Lightweight Best Uses: Everyday riding, Mountain biking, Road cycling, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Since the trails are not open in my area yet I have only used this helmet for road riding. Very comfortable and very well ventilated. My old helmet was a Bell Gishallo which I thought was very nice and I have to rate this one above that.
By Trigurl from Houston, TX on 04/15/2009 Pros: Good ventilation, Lightweight Cons: Clunky adjustment, Off center chin buckle Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: First, the helmet I received had defective graphics, lines missing/screwed up. This was an obvious reject from LAS that they wouldn't allow to be sold. Second, I am a triathlete and in T1 I don't want to fumble with finding the chin buckle which is off to one side, not directly in the center. Also, the back adjustment is very difficult to turn, unless that is another defective part of the helmet. I'm used to just a quick adjustment, this knob hurt to turn.
By Chris from Williamsburg, VA on 04/14/2009 Pros: Convenient back-of-head adjustment, Nice fit system/pads Best Uses: Cold-weather riding, Everyday riding, Mountain biking, Road cycling Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The LAS Squalo helmet has been decribed to me as aggro, and ventilated. I felt that aggro was an unnecessary term. The helmet will definitely turn heads. It looks different than most other helmets I've worn. Instead of sleak open vents, the vents seem angular and remind me of air-intake scoops on cars and jets.
It seems a tad bulky to me, so I would tend to lean toward an MTB application, though I'm most certain that the pro-tour has it's share of LAS helmets in the pelaton.
It could be better ventilated. I have some experience with super-vented helmets (e.g. Giro Atmos) and it doesn't vent as well as that helmet. The helmet, however, has a much better fit, and a more versatile set of pads (both winter and summer). I am excited to wear this helmet some more.
By ryn0mite from mn on 04/14/2009 Pros: Convenient back-of-head adjustment, Durable, Good ventilation, Lightweight, Nice fit system/pads Best Uses: Cold-weather riding, Everyday riding, Road cycling, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Probably the most comfortable helmet I have worn. The strap seems big and clunky at first when I was adjusting, but once wearing the helmet and riding I was not an issue.

Light, comforatable and affordable By Smilinguy from Littleton, CO on 04/11/2009 Pros: Convenient back-of-head adjustment, Fits large heads, Good ventilation, Lightweight, Nice fit system/pads Best Uses: Everyday riding, Road cycling Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very nice helmet for the price. I have never found bike helmets to be too comfortable, but this one is so light, and the padding is so good, that at times, it doesn't even feel like you are wearing a shell. The ventalation is great, and this will quickly become my go-to road helmet. Wonderful deal for the quality.
By SpongeBobandPatrick from Sequim on 04/05/2009 Pros: Convenient back-of-head adjustment, Good ventilation, Lightweight, Nice fit system/pads Best Uses: Everyday riding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Most helmets usually don't fit my head very well, from the cheap to the very expensive. This one fits perfectly. On long rides it fits so well as to not be noticed.
