By K-Dub from S.E. New Mexico on 12/16/2008 Pros: Easy to Fill, Effective, Simple To Use Cons: Flame is Difficult to See Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Winter Conditions Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This lighter lights quickly, burns hot and is very reliable in wind. I can easily light my pack stove and just about anything else I need to ignite. The see-through butane chamber is great to determine just how much fuel is available to you. Case is bombproof and highly engineered. Locking top is nice to keep out moisture. One small negative, (probably inherent to all butane lighters) in bright sunlight it is almost impossible to see the flame. However, the sound it makes (small blowtorch) is usually a good indication that it is lit. Just buy this and stop futzing around with cheaper options.

The first was so successful that I decided I'd like another as a spare if I lost the first one. Works great every time. Very easy to check fluid level and refill. Is very well built, solid and easy to use. Works well even when soaking wet.
