By New Mexico hiker from Columbus, OH on 10/12/2009 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Lightweight, Secure Fit Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really put these shoes to the test on my latest trip to New Mexico, hiking on mountainous terrain. I like the boots very much and had just a few issues. One was lack of cushion inside the shoe. This was easily fixed with an insert. On my left inner ankle I had a persistant uncomfortable pressure point. After several adjustments, I decided to not use the last set of hooks and tie the shoe just below, which did help. I believe this is due to not being fully broken in prior to my first 3 hour hike. I wore them indoors for a 1.5 weeks, but evidently this was not enough break in time. I did not get any blistering.
By alpinist from Seattle WA on 02/05/2008 Pros: Durable, Great Traction, Stable, Water Resistant Best Uses: Backcountry, Day hikes, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great lightweight boot. Contruction is high quality and has a rather stiff sole, which is good. Traction on snow and water is excellent. I like the traditional pattered lugs. Requires break-in time to soften the heel and sole. Heel blisters are the norm while breaking in. Fit is slightly large (1/3 a size).
