I ski 3-4 days a week all winter and LOVE these boots. I have yet to try them on a really frigid day, but I bet they will perform just fine.
Oh, it's true about the size difference, I wear a 6.5, and ordered a 6 and they fit just fine, very roomy toe box.
If you want happy feet, buy me By The dog walker from Piscataway, New Jersey on 02/29/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy Entry & Exit, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Slippery Terrain, Snow, Walking the dogs, Wet Conditions Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I needed a high enough boot for walking in the snow and stepping off of curbs after heavy rain. It is a great boot. It is light, warm, and waterproof. When I walk a distance with the dogs in the snow, the boots don't tire me out. I have good traction with the boots and can shovel snow with no problem. The best investment I made for the winter.
By Donna from Johnson City, TN on 01/15/2008 Pros: Good Value, High Quality Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a city carrier and with working outside all day, I need a boot that is warm, waterproof and comfortable. It is hard to find all of those qualities in one shoe. So far, so good! My feet do not hurt at the end of the day and they are staying warm-a huge plus. I would recommend them and any other Salomon product for that matter-they are truly worth the money. I do not find that they run large. I normally wear a 7 in Salomons and ordered a half size up because they were sold out of size 7. As long as I wear a thick sock they are okay, but with a thinner sock they would be a little big. great boot but runs large By jeaniebeanie74 from columbia river gorge, washington on 01/12/2008 Pros: Durable, Good Value, High Quality Best Uses: snow, hiking, mud Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: awesome traction, very very warm, roomy toe box. it runs large, so order at least 1/2 size smaller. my left foot is 1/2 size larger than my right so it's always tricky to buy shoes. i will exchange for smaller size and see if that works. stiff boot, totally waterproof, very comfy footbed, but stiff ankle support which takes getting used to.
